My feelings as well. Anderson will keep this up until they give him big $$$ matchups. He is the best fighter in the world, he should only be fighting the best. Maia had no right in that octagon with him. Bet Dana missed Hendo last night.
That was not the same Penn that put on a clinic against Florian and Sanchez...... Its like he didnt even try to win. Maybe the sheiks paid him off! LOL... I mean the odds were great..
FIGHT METRICS http://www.themmanews.com/?p=12220 I bet Sanchez and Florian both would woop Edgar if given the opportunity. BJ's mind wasn't on that fight, and still he landed more shots overall in the standup war and was NEVER in any danger of losing from a KO or submission. I watched this twice, and I still cant believe Edgar won 50-45 according to a judge... BS. A win is a win, so be it, Thats what you get for leaving it to the judges, but I want Edgar to give BJ a rematch.. I'd love to see it.
Word out of BJ's camp is he had a sinus infection and a fever, if that's true I can understand how sickness can really fuck with someones energy and cardio but the problem is I don't know if I believe it, BJ's had excuses before.
I believe it. He looked horrible. They didn't short change Frankie, either. BJ was very humble in defeat. I think he knows he'll have his belt back real soon.
At least Frankie can say he was the only LW in the UFC to beat BJ PENN.... sick or not, a win is a win....
did sinus and fever not allow bj to take this game to the ground? when his standup game was lackadaisical.. id admit something did look wrong with bj but i dont know if that was frustration on how he couldnt manage much offense or he was actually sick sick. only a rematch can settle this debate.
Excuse Tuesday... came even sooner than I expected. If you can't fight, call if off. Otherwise deal with the consequences.
Penn's camp is asking for an immediate rematch. The UFC is considering Penn/Edgar 2 to headline the Boston show. The decision wasn't nearly as controversial as Machida/Shogun. Makes sense to do Edgar/Maynard and Penn/Florian 2 on that show then let the winners have at it in the fall.

Should note that Florian is nursing a badly Staph infected knee at the moment and may not be ready to go by July.
