Raptor fans were not amused. Here's one of their posts on Realgm referring to this play: Sheed and Stern= accomplices. LOL. Bill Simmons wasn't happy either:
I'm sure this must have been posted but I couldn't find it. Bill Simmons just destroys Sheed. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/100407&sportCat=nba This is not at all the strongest quote but it reminded me of watching Sheed the last year of his Blazer career and knowing that they had no choice but to trade him. He is a guy who produces when the situation pleases him but otherwise, forget it. "Sheed likes jogging at half-speed. He submits entire sequences -- two or three minutes at a time, six or seven trips up and down the court -- without ever passing either foul line. Sometimes I count to see how many consecutive possessions Sheed can pull off without crossing either charity stripe. His unofficial record is nine."
I thought the same live, but it looked to me like it slipped out of his grasp as he was trying to pull it down because he wasn't focused when they showed it from the angle above. That's just me.
Yea the look of sheer embarrasment on his face says it all. He didn't do it on purpose he just wasn't paying that much attention and didn't have any control of it with his right hand when he went to grab it with his left hand and it causes the ball the bounce back up.
I think he was trying to do "that thing" he does sometimes. Where he grabs the rebound and throws in an extra "pump" for effect. It looked like he was attempting to do that when the ball slipped.
