I saw something Matt posted on BaB and I hadn't seen anyone put it this way before: The whole VDN vs. Pax story only seems to have come to light because of Gar's dick move of telling an obvious lie and throwing Vinny under the buss after the NJ loss. Now, I guess at some point, folks in that position need to lie sometimes. But the worst part of Gar's lie is that it accomplished nothing. It was utterly pointless. He could have just said "yeah, we were trying to protect Noah, and we should have had a clearer set of rules in place". It would have been a minor kerfluffle that everyone would have forgotten about in a day. Instead, he torches a guy with absolutely nothing to lose. It was stupid even before Vinny (I assume it was him) let the cat out of the bag on Paxson's burning man-rage, but given that this cat was in that bag, it was remarkably stupid. Worst of all, this clown’s only job is apparently to be a PR guy, which makes his creation of this problem for the team all the more absurd.
