There's all this talk/rumor/speculation about Jackie Z. going out to get the likes of A. Gonzales at the deadline. First, I think it's a pipe dream, b/c young lefty power first basemen don't grow on trees. BUT I would've said that lefty Cy Young pitchers can't be had for 3 average-or-so prospects, either about 4 months ago. But really, am I way off in thinking we should be offering a Brinks truck full of money for Carl Crawford this offseason? I mean, I can't think of a better left-field fit for our team than a guy who can hit both gaps, run for days, play some pretty decent D, and drive people in? A top 3 of Ichiro, Figgins, Crawford would be a pretty nice start to a lineup. And Milton can DH to his heart's content.
