I think the problem is that every other team in the league saw that DVD and realized exactly what they needed to do to nullify him (take away the drive, don't bail him out with a foul, and force him to shoot a jumper).
Exactly. Instead of showing Jared this video, somebody should show him some video of how Andre gets to the hoop. JB needs to learn some of those veteran tricks of starting the drive, pulling up, lulling your man to sleep and then taking it the rest of the way. As it is, he's become predictable and easy to block.
Maybe Jerryd needs to adopt Miller's old-school post-up game? He's strong enough and probably big enough to back somebody down
Bayless is younger than Miller was at any point in his career. Coming into the season, the book on Bayless already had to be "take away the drive"...he did play enough in his rookie season for us to see that, which means advance scouts would have too. Basketball, like baseball, is a game of adjustments. IThe league adjusted to him this season, yet Bayless still improved his productivity. Now Bayless needs to adjust his own game, if he's going to continue to improve. That could be a matter of straightening out his jumper or becoming even craftier in his drives or, as you suggested, adding a post game. That's where Sergio failed...when the league adjusted, he couldn't adjust back. If Bayless also fails, he'll stall out.
