About baseball, I feel that the MLB is a broken league. Half of the owners are money hungry pigs who care nothing about their fans and team, only the revenue. The other half whine and moan about how Steinbrenner is "buying" baseball but if you think about it, didn't the owners put this on themselves when they agreed to 'no cap' (or was that always MLB policy, somebody enlighten me)? Wouldn't somebody have the brains to realize that a big market owner, especially NY the biggest sports market in the world, would eventually take advantage of this system? The point I'm making is the same teams that are on top now will ALWAYS be on top and the teams that are on the bottom will ALWAYS be at the bottom because there is limitless spending. Look at the top teams in baseball, they all have salaries hovering around 85-90 million. The Yanks and Red Sox are over 150 million each (I know Yanks are over 200, dont know if Boston is over 150). THe owners of the top teams have shown a commitment to putting out a top product while the owners of the teams on the bottom just pocket all revenue cash and run. Every once in a while, a small market will open their checkbook (see Orioles and Blue Jays) but in reality, the balance of power will remain the same for years. I'm not a fanDebate away

Spending doesn't always mean winning, look at the Marlins winning two titles in the last 10 years with really low payroll, I do agree that it sucks in general because you have to dump players and develope young kids for the Yankees/Red Sox because you can't pay them. But at the end of the day more than half of baseball is in the playoff chase and it's really fun to watch. The league should have a payroll limit where a team can't go below a certain mark.

I'm sick of the Yankees on top every single year. Let's see them losing and injury rittled, where Steinbrenner can't do anything about it. :bat:

The main problem with the MLB is the huge steroid cloud that has been raining on them with problems these last few years..

Everybody knew that players were taking steroids, but the MLB just looked the other way. Now I really want Barry Bonds to not only pass Ruth but to pass Hank Aaron, just so the MLB realizes how badly they've F*cked upAnd as far as I'm concerned, he's never failed a drug test so they can't void any of his numbers.
