I think it is fairly obvious that what the Blazers really need to do if they want to give Bayless the best chance to succeed, is quit trying to make him what he is not. He plays much better as the off guard. He may be able to play point after a few more years of experience. Right now he spends too much time watching for cutters but not moving enough himself to give the right angles to pass. That is because he is thinking too much instead of just playing. That will go away in time.

I give Rudy some benefit of the doubt for last years playoff starting appearance. Last year if you remember, Rudy and Brandon Roy had not started together or played together in that exact unit, all season long. Not once. I don't think it is a big surprise when he shows up in the starting lineup for the very first time, in a playoff game against a defensivly tough team, that he struggled. When you play a team like that, you need chemistry, and chemistry isn't developed the first game you play with a unit.

Either of these guys have been impressive as of late. Rudy is NOT a seasoned vet. He is not clutch and I don't really expect too much out of him come Sunday. That being said. I don't think Bayless should see the court in the playoffs with the way he has been playing. I would honestly rather have Patty Mills in the game due to his jumper. Bayless is good at running into people and drawing fouls...I think Bayless has room to improve but he's going to have to work his ass off in the off season if he wants to be considered for a starting job ANYWHERE in the NBA.

Diener should never see the court again IMO.

Would much rather see some on-court experience go towards the development of young Patty Mills.

Are you kidding me? He's one of our greatest weapons against Steve Nash. He attacked Nash for 29 points in our win over the Suns in Portland. I expect him to play a lot.

Looks like ALL our (uninjured) guards will get some PT.
