The Vietnam War ended in, 1976? I think the treaties happened around 1974 but the last personnel out of the Navy ships around there were in 1976. Okay, I'm guessing. Anyway, one thing I do know is that it's now 2010, and 34-36 years have passed. What are the chances that the only guy still on active duty won the Medal of Honor? I mean, you don't last more than 36 years unless you're a general, right? P.S. I arrived in Hawaii when little Barry was 3 weeks old. I know he was there. I think I heard him screaming all the way from Aiea.
treaties were in 1973, everyone out by mid-1975. I can see why this guy would be pissed at an officer refusing orders to a combat zone. Keep in mind, up until this point he'd already received the Silver Star and Bronze Star (you don't get those just for going 3 months without the clap): I checked his wiki page. Seems that he got out after Vietnam to be a social worker, then volunteered for duty in the first Gulf War, and has been in since. Quick math says he's working on 22 years of Active Duty and isn't 60 yet (later on this year), so he's still legit as far as age/rank/tenure requirements go.
You might want to check out the following article from The Sunday Standard, June 27, 2004: http://web.archive.org/web/20040627142700/eastandard.net/headlines/news26060403.htm
Obama was apparently very open about the fact that he was born in Kenya until he decided he wanted to run for President. Now THAT'S amazingly stupid.
I can't remember where I was born, I think I was too busy trying to figure out why I was being evicted.
You know that it was Ryan's wife, Jeri Ryan who was making those allegations. Who needs a sex club when you could bang Seven of Nine anytime you want.
You do know Shooty that if there were any truth to that at all the Clinton's would have disclosed this before the first primary. And if they didn't McCain and the RNC would have. So do you read the Sunday Standard often?
Agreed about 7 of 9. But there are some weird WWW pages out there. http://www.nigerianobservernews.com/4112008/4112008/news/news1.html http://www.africa-ata.org/ug_newsletter.htm http://www.archive.org/details/OtunnuOnLuoTribeMemberBeingElectedPresidentOct.252008 http://www.archive.org/details/OtunnuRemembersBarackObamaSr.Oct.252008
That sounds like the title of a Wired article circa 1995. Personally, I am always surprised to find weird stuff on the WWW. It's almost like anyone can write whatever they want.
On the other hand: http://legacy.signonsandiego.com/news/politics/20040625-1644-illinoissenate.html (the same story as Shooter posted, but without any reference to Obama being born in Kenya). I think there may be some confusion in all of this because Barak Obama Sr. WAS born in Kenya. I have zero doubt the president is fully qualified (born in Hawaii, etc.)
What's even more weird is that anyone who actually wrote he was born in Kenya and has corrected their articles only feeds the conspiracy.
they must've just been bought by the Weekly World News and are changing their formatting. (I couldn't find "Pregnant Man Gives Birth"...but that's a fact!)
Not necessarily. It's hard to "disclose" the facts when Obama refuses to release his original birth certificate, and when he seals his college records. Besides, the Clintons aren't exactly scrupulous about legal matters, and attacking Obama on the grounds of his birth would have made them look desperate.
