I actually agree with him and his sarcastic comments. LeBron owns the media so much it's going to be tough to see him NOT win an MVP, regardless of how spectacular someone else is.
The media always spreads it around a little, but yeah he should win a bunch of MVPs. He's in his prime right now.
But I don't think there's ever been such a media darling like this in the NBA. As long as he stays on successful teams and sustains his production, I have a hard time believing he won't win it, unless Durant or Wade or someone else lead their respective teams towards to the upper echelon of their conference.
To be honest, I actually believe that Kobe --if the team stays healthy (and hungry) with the best record next year-- has one more run for that MVP next year. Other than that, it's pretty much going to be Lebron or Durant for the next decade. D12 will win one too.
I don't know if Dwight will win one unless he starts getting 25ppg. Dominant defensive players don't usually get it. He's probably going to win a lot of DPOYs, but unless he goes for like, 25/14 for a season, he's going to have a tough time winning it.
Why not? If his team secures the best overall record + he bumps up that scoring average to around 23 per game, he'll have a shot.
a more true statement would be that lebron is the best player in the league by so much it's tough to see him not winning the mvp every year. it hard to see anyone else in the league having a more spectacular season than lebron.
I'll have to concur. He took trash to 66 wins last year. 61 again this season while taking games off at the end. Dwight is a pretty good defensive player, so yeah I could see it happening. Let's say he wins a trophy this year, that could get him momentum with the media later on. I think no matter how dominant someone is, spreading the wealth happens all the time.
Or if his team doesen't produce and isn't a contender. Well usually they don't give awards to player who carry their shit team to playoffs (Kobe 06/07) but if I think about it, Lebron might just do it
