as you know, i am a cavaliers fan. Lebron is playing like the anti jordan right now though. Jordan would guide his team to wins no matter who they were playing and would assure his team was always on top.Lebron hasnt been able to do that and though he's young I dont care. Will lebron ever be the same leader as MJ?*LEADER not PLAYER/WINNER.
That's tough. Jordan was a solid leader late in his career, although earlier on he was a nusance. He would demand much too much from teammates and get on their nerves. He was actually a bit of a prick. LeBron on the other hand, seems to be a better leader than Jordan at these poitns of their career. In terms of leading his team to victories, MJ only started doing that in his late 20s, early 30s. LeBron has a ways to go, so it'll be awhile before we can really argue this. However, if LeBron wants to be the palyer MJ was, he's got to start defending better.

If he sets a high standard with his level of play then his teammates will step their game up too.

He always did what his team needed for him to win. His teams SUCKED until Pippen started blossoming as a great player, yet he always led them to playoffs with averages greater than Kobe's (and right now, Kobe is more selfish than MJ was, yet being called best in NBA). He was a prick his whole career, but it helped and got team motivated. When it didn't, he dropped 37PPG on you. And when you say point of career, depends on what you mean. MJ was still at UNC ar 21. If you meant 3rd year of NBA career, I will say they are about even. MJ was leading his teams to victory ever since he hit the GW in the NCAA tournament to win the tourny. He always led by example and expected nothing less from teammates, however crappy they were. He was a fantastic leader throughout his career, did it through motivation, and leading by example (a workhorse in practice, amazing player who took control in games). He always hit the GW when they needed it, always had big numbers when they needed it. You could say that sounds like KObe, but it is different, as Kobe works so hard to be best, MJ did it for wins, and always did whatever it took, even if it made him look bad. Kobe shifts his game to the tunes of the media and his fans.LeBron has a long time to go to develop MJ-like leadership, give him some time.
