That estimation can't be right. Maybe that 1-2 weeks thing is the amount of time he needs to be off his knee completely; then at least a week or so for rehab? Or maybe, the tear was really minor?

Chris Paul made it back very fast from this same injury. He wasn't 100% but he was effective. I can't remember total timeline though.

Awesome. I think he had the surgery now because he knew the Suns series would be a cakewalk. Having him against the Spurs or Mavs would be amazing.

This is roughly my thought too. Maybe the surgery recovery will be quick enough he can play in a later series if we make it there.

So if the team can win this one for "The Gimper" we could have him back for the second round.

    Sweet.

The way I look at it, the only reason to have "rushed" into surgery this week is for a quick turnaround on what is already a short recovery, and that can only mean they're hoping he can play in this year's playoffs. 1-2 weeks seems awfully short, but it has to fit in with the team's thinking to some degree.

He did. But he was practicing and could have "gone" sooner than that. They just held him back, because New Orleans chance of the playoffs by that point was pretty much moot.

Roy possibly only out 1-2 weeks?

Is this just being spun to give us hope, or could he really be back in just a few weeks?

You never fully know how damaged the knee is until you open it up, so perhaps they opened it up and saw that everything actually looked decent and there was just a tiny little tear.

At least we know this injury isn't very serious.

We actually talked about this the other day. 1-2 weeks is the very least time it would take. Average is 4-6 weeks, but I was told a story about a wrestler who had the surgery and was competing in the state championships 2.5 weeks later. So 2-3 weeks IS possible. They might rush it if it's a close series.

Maybe they opened it up and saw -- there was nothing wrong at all. Oops, just a bruise. Carry on then! :devilwink:

Lets hope that the Blazers are sending someone over to Roy's house to give him sponge baths for the next couple of weeks.

    Please Roy, no showers.
