It was raining, and it was cold. The bases were loaded, and there were no outs.

"You look back on it," Lance Cormier said, "and it was a fun inning."

It was the bottom of the 11th inning of a game that started the night before and was suspended with the score tied at 1 in the middle of the ninth. Now it was Saturday night, and the Red Sox were threatening.

And they didn't score.

With a five-man infield behind him, Cormier got a pair of ground balls to escape the jam, and Pat Burrell hit a two-run homer over Fenway Park's Green Monster in left field in the top of the 12th to give the Rays a 3-1 victory. The regularly scheduled game followed.
