Actually, that was the only thing holding me back. I wanted to get a Camby jersey earlier this year, but the only thing stopping me is he might be a couple of month Blazer only.

2 years $25 million is outrageous. Better not be that.

2 years $21 miliion is high, but going in the right direction.

3 years $21 million, with 3rd year a team option (the Andre Miller deal) is what it should be. Fingers crossed.

Funny. I'm the opposite: didn't really care for it at first, but now I guess I can see why it makes sense.

No. It's common knowledge that Mark Warkentien orchestrated that Travis+Blake for Camby swap by dumping Camby on the Clips for a second round pick two years ago ... yes, Mark Warkentien is THAT good!

Great news! I'm glad the Blazer brass realizes we need a shit ton of centers in Portland because they always seem to get hurt. Hopefully we can sign about 3 more big men before training camp. Then if we can get 15 games out of each guy we should be set! Just use two at a time and keep the others in bubble wrap until called upon. Lets keep Greg in cold storage until the playoffs.

Even if he's not a dominant 1 on 1 post defender, I just like the way Camby makes this team instantly smarter on the defensive end of the court with his ability to read, react and direct ... and I think Nic, Greg and LMA will all benefit greatly from being able to play alongside a guy like that for at least the next two years.

While it might be high, really, what difference does it make? 2-21, 2-25, or 2-15. We're over the cap, close to the LT, and not getting under the cap anytime soon. The extra 2-4 a year doesn't have a negative effect on any flexibility we may have. It does, however, provide us with a bigger expiring contract trade asset, if needed.

It's 2 years 21 million with 4 million in incentives according to the Oregonian.

Interested to see what those incentives are. 2 a year for winning a title?

Could be or maybe a number of games played each year. Camby has had a lot of missed games.

How is this a bad deal?

2 years? perfect length, and Camby would have gotten close to $10 million from some other team out there, and after seeing what he brings to the table on defense, I am happy that POR has apparently resigned him....He could be a good mentor for Oden as well...

and I'd like to see POR resign Howard for that 14th/15th spot...I think he still has a little game left in those legs, and his role (hopefully) would be more of that insurance, rather than the larger role he played this year due to injuries...

    Bulls-eye.

People focus too much on the dollars, when the real killer is the length. No matter how bad a short term deal works out, it is survivable. With the impending lock-out, this is effectively a 1 year deal, making the risk minimal.

Heh. I wonder if this changes the "A" grade ESPN gave the Clippers on the Blake/Outlaw for Camby trade because they assumed that Camby would re-sign with the Clips this summer?

People always forget about the Portland factor. That is the city itself. People come here and fall in love with the actual city. Look at guys like Steve Blake. I'm sure Camby had no intention at first to stay here but now look.

This should put some shock waves out there in the NBA. First a road team beats a home team, now the wrap up Camby for 2 more years. I'm thinking that Rudy and Joel packaged together at the deadline makes a huge splash for the Blazers, I am really hoping that Rudy makes the most of Brandon being out, but he really fizzed last night. This is going to help Portland in the long run, Camby can play with either Oden or Aldridge, it's going to be a huge block party all year long.....I'm stoked. :D

Hopefully with a full, healthy off-season under his belt Pendergraph comes back a little more NBA ready and able to pick up spot minutes at either the 4 or the 5 as needed. But to resign Juwan I hope it's as an assistant coach and not as a player. His influence on the players is great, but his influence on the game itself? Maybe not so much.
