Imagine how bad B-Roy must be feeling right about now... Ah well we got our one, now back to the most rockin arena in the NBA!
I am disappointed. I had a feeling we were gonna lose, but I had no idea we would be blown out. Bad News Bears...
I actually thought we'd lose by over 20 tonight, but it was worse than I thought. The Suns were desperate and needed to make a statement. They're a frontrunning team. They get a lead and start rolling. We played their game. What bothered me was how we just rolled over and took it. Fuck it. We burn the tape and get back to grinding. Don't ever entertain trying to run with the Suns again. Lesson learned.
Yep, but this team isn't Houston. We've kept the Suns bottled up four of five games this season. This game was an aberration.
Not disappointed at all. A sweep would've been nice but most everyone in here who picked the Blazers, picked them to win 6. That means we have to lose 2 games. Doesn't matter how much we lose them by. In fact, close losses tend to hurt a lot more than a blowout. We had trouble hanging with the Suns early on because Camby was missing layups and Grant Hill was shooting 100% from the field. I don't think that will happen consistently over the course of the series.
Suns brought their best game of the season and the Blazers weren't up for the fight. I'd be lying if I said I thought the Blazers were going to win tonight. It was a must win for Phoenix and they were at home. Actually kind of predictable.
Yeah, I'm a little disappointed. I at least wanted to see the Blazers act like they wanted to knock the Suns out. Instead they acted like they were just happy to win a game.
Disappointed? Disappointed!?!?
I'm wondering what happened that caused us to adjust away from attacking Steve Nash. The announcers were making the "switch Grant Hill onto Miller" move look like it was the move that Kasparov used to beat Big Blue. Uh, Steve Nash is still on the floor, and therefore still "guarding" someone. Why wasn't Rudy's number called in the first few minutes? When it came to pass that we all realized Rudy was not having an "on" night, why wasn't Bayless or Webster called in to replace him? When Webster came in for Nic's two fouls, why wasn't some running-through-screens-all-night action with Webster and Rudy switching off happening, with either LMA or Camby facilitating from the high post? I get that Miller was bottled up. I get that they were doubling LMA. It's not that tough to see that if someone's doubled, someone else is open. But I don't get paid for this. (WTH is up with Camby missing 4 chippies in 2 nights?) It's too bad Nic got hurt. I'm hopeful, yet pessimistic. "Not being able to raise your arm" isn't good. If for some reason he can come back, Miller/(Bayless or Webster)/Batum should start, and put pressure on Nash from the jump. Get either him or his bigs in foul trouble, b/c Nash can't guard Miller, Webster, Bayless OR Batum, but can guard Rudy if he's not shooting anything. And how do you have a team in the penalty with 6 minutes left in the first, and shoot only 5 FTs the rest of the way? We went LMA jumper, Camby blown layup, LMA jumper, layup, layup ( !), Bayless jumper, Miller jumper, Webster jumper, Howard jumper, Camby jumper. And we're still only down 6! Loved the Mills/Diener backcourt at the end.
It certainly would have helped if we'd been able to make a layup in the first half. We were down 14 at the break with at least 5 missed layups. They made their adjustment. Now we make ours - AND shift the scene to the friendly confines.
The amount of posters who are nowhere to be found while the team is having success, but come out of the woodwork after a loss is growing weekly.
I'm disappointed that garbage time started with 20 minutes to play, but the result (a loss) doesn't surprise me. Nic getting hurt is just lame however -- it's just been that kind of year.
Are you guys serious? You know that the Suns were arguably THE best team in the NBA at the end of the year, and that they were pretty clearly the best offensive one? Without Roy, the Blazers are in for an uphill battle, even if we won the first game. It's not impossible, and of COURSE I'd love it if they'd gone 2-0 in Phoenix, but the Suns are a very very good offensive team and I'm not disappointed that they hit shots that they normally do tonight. Portland will have to step up the defense and have decent games from Aldridge and Rudy to win any more of this series. Ed O.
