Rudy would thrive in Phoenix just like Sergio will turn into an all-star once he gets to play for a coach like D'Antoni.
No not the whole offense. Did Gentry putting Hill on Andre change the WHOLE Defense they played? No it was an adjustment to put his team in a better position to be more effective and succeed.
Rudy's offense is a problem, sure. But his defense has been absolutely brutal. THAT is what is killing Portland. Rudy can't guard anyone, isn't patroling the passing lanes like he was earlier in the season and isn't showing the same kind of effort on the defensive end that he was even earlier this season. It wasn't always like this. He was playing better earlier in the year. I think that back injury he suffered last year has pretty well fucked his whole career. I think it got aggrevated a couple of months ago and is still bothering him a great deal more then he is letting on.
Honestly, I'm thinking this is EXACTLY what he is.... seems like it with his actions, and his words. Not very mature...
A link to what? A link to comments I have seen NBATV guys make? How do I link to that. There is not a link to everything. I have seen many players, ex players, and coaches state this. They said the only reason that players miss as many 3's as they do now is because of defensive pressure. When wide open, guys are expected to make the shot at a high clip. When under pressure, not so much. When I was watching the New Orleans Hornet real training camp this year, the standard challenge from Byron Scott to his shooters was for them to hit 50% of 50 3's in a set time limit. When betting Peja Stoijacovich, he lost a lot of those bets, and on many of them Peja shot over 50% by quite a bit.
well hell now we just gotta convince other teams to let Rudy just shoot uncontested threes in a time limit. You cracked the code!!!!
All you have to do to satisfy him, is go to any nba stat website, espn for instance, and copy and paste players with 50% 3 point shooting.
What if Rudy is just embarrassed about his problems creating points? Maybe he's just getting defensive because he doesn't want to talk about it? But we don't need to play guessing games about why he's playing poorly. We just need him to play welll!
Yes, a person who voluntarily puts himself on a global stage, making millions of dollars playing a game shouldn't expect to have millions of people commenting on how he's hurting his team. How dare we do this! Seriously, though, I want Rudy to perform well. I don't have anything against him personally. I just know that he can be a very dynamic player when he wants to, and now, that we really need him to be that dynamic player, he starts giving 50% or less effort. As a Blazer fan, I want us to perfom well. I think its the fans and medias job to question when a player clearly isn't giving 100%. I guess I'm just not into giving guys a free pass for doing a half job. None of us could do that at our jobs, and get away with it.
So if I, as a sports fan, bag on my teams guy because he's hurting the team and doesn't seem to care about it, that makes me a "troll" and I lack reading comprehension. Okay. Really, though, if you were actually there when the reporters were asking Rudy the questions, or else you have inside info about what was actually said, and the O is taking comments out of context/deleting comments, then good for you; and I think of Rudy as less of a douche and more of a guy that just can't deal with adversity. I'm just a fan reading what the local newspaper has to say, and making judgements based on that. I'm not expecting him to score 20+ but I think that if a teams starting SG only takes 2 shots in a playoff game, and looks lost on both ends of the court, then that team is screwed. Prove me wrong, Rudy!
I think we should separate Rudy as a player from Rudy as a person. Has he played like horseshit this series? Yes. I think it would be difficult for anyone to say that he's played well. He hasn't shot the ball well, he hasn't defended well. Is he a douche? Is he a diva? Maybe. I don't know. Has he played like horseshit because he's a douche or a diva? I doubt that. The bottom line to me is that if he comes out and hits four first half three pointers, none of this matters. At all. Ed O.
Rudy's not a douche (or maybe he is, but since I don't actually know him personally I won't go there), but there is no doubt that he is taking a major face plant in his best opportunity to show the world just how good of a player he is (or isn't). All I know is this, the league loves guys who are gamers, it doesn't coddle or kid-glove guys who make excuses for bad play. Rudy can silence all of his critics with his play, so far that isn't happening. ps. LMA making excuses about the double-team and not performing is pretty much in the same boat.
Yep. And Nate uses that term "we" very loosely (like the Queen does, as most of the team, including Brandon and LaMarcus stated 2 years ago they enjoyed playing a lot more when Sergio had them out and running and dunking.
