That's a bit better, but you're still not quite back up to your old Zurz Gir standards. Keep up the hard work, though!

Man, whatever happened to OddEnormous of the Post your 'Zers Gear thread? You know, that happy go lucky kid that posted in webonics or something like that. That guy was a hoot. This grown up, bitter OddE isn't nearly as much fun.

Edit: @trip - sorry to duplicate your post. I should really read through the last post before replying.

Nicknames aside, the dude does have a point.... it seems as though there were no corrections done by our coaches.

I didn't watch the game, but when I saw the score, my first thought was, "Gentry made adjustments, and Nate couldn't keep up." Probably just my own personal bias coming through.

From what I recall, "McDillon" was originally preceded by "Ronald"--likening Nate to Ronald McDonald. This could either mean that he's calling Nate a clown (or assclown, if you will), or it could also suggest that his competence as a coach is comparable to that of a typical McDonald's employee.

Last time I checked we're tied 1-1, with the next two at home. We stole one in Phoenix, which is really spectacular considering all the crap thats happened this season. Did you all really expect a W last night? I sure didn't-it would have been nice-but the Suns played like a team with their backs against the wall-you really expect Hill to have another 10-10 game? I think all the fair-weather fans need to jump off and stay off.

Oh, and I know we were "throttled" game 1 last year, and game 2 this year, but what is the other "throttling" that you are speaking of? BTW, since you're using slanted math to make your point-"3 out of 8" is just as close to 25% as it is 50%...

I thought it had been decided many months ago that Assclown McScribbles would be the name mocking of choice?

Regardless, I think Mr Sonic has done a great job of keeping this team together through all it's adversity, and in general, is a good motivator. He is not the best X's and O's coach, and his substitution patterns are odd at best. Not the right choice to take this team futher into the playoffs, and IMO, the team has outgrown him.

    Game 6

OK, I'll be more exact... good thing we only get blown out 37.5% of the time in the playoffs

a 16 point loss is a blowout? And what you didn't mention is that we lost the other 2 in Houston by 4 combined points, which really would have swung the series back our way, obviously. You'd rather focus on negativity...:sigh:

    Are you serious dude?

Did you watch that game for fucks sake?

And you're right. I didn't mention the other two awesome losses.

Sorry Nate. You deserve credit for not getting blown out in those other losses.

Talking about the Houston series is almost pointless. Anybody who didn't think Adelman was going to out-coach Nate was kidding themselves. Nate is a good coach - but Rick is a borderline great coach.

Gentry is not a great coach. This series is a much more telling yardstick for Nate. Let's see how it plays out.

Don't be a dumbass. Running basketball doesn't win big series in the playoffs. The facts are young teams sometimes get their asses kicked in the playoffs. Portland is a young team. So when things go bad, sometimes they go real bad, real fast.

Remember when we played Houston last year, and game 1 we lost, and the next game the Blazers came back and played much better. Amazingly coincidental to what happened last night isn't it?

Heck, the Jazz got their lunch handed to them in game 1, came out without Okur, and beat the Thuggs in game 2. One game does not a series make.

Nobody in this thread said it has.

The very subject of the thread has "8 games" in it.

I don't even know how to respond to this.

    Exactly what is your point?

I'm supposed to be happy/relieved/excited/hopeful this is just like last year?

BTW, you can stop with the "Portland is a young team" now. Because they aren't anymore. At least not this year. At least not right now.

But considering people still classify Nate as a young coach... I guess I can see calling us a young team for the next 8 years or so.

Never said anyone had said it, just stating my opinion on a post that someone else just made.

I think some of the people that continually wear their rose garden colored glasses should step back and take a look at how this team really plays in the playoffs under Nate.

Serious question: did Nate change ANYTHING that didn't work in game 2?
