I stayed loyal to this team through the drafting of LaRue Martin, the trading of Moses Malone, the Bill Walton betrayal, the Sam Bowie debacle, the heartbreaks of the Drexler years, the game 7 meltdown, the Oregonian vendetta against the team, and the 20 win season.

Somewhere along the line, I think I earned the right to be critical when the team drops a major stinkbomb in a crucial play-off game on their own court.

    Injuries is one thing.
Playing with no heart is another and is not excusable. Injuries do not give a free ticket to mail it in.

I'm embarrassed more for the majority of the players.
The effort at times, of late, has been just pathetic.

A lot of the problem lies with McMillan IMO.

So you honestly thought we would compete tonight with all our guys out?

If by compete you mean "get close to Jason Richardson, maybe with a hand or two up in the air", then yes.

You mean like they did in game 1? Or against OKC and LA in the last week of the season?

Why yes, I did. Silly me.

I'll just say this and leave it as is, we don't have enough healthy talented bodies to win a series against the Suns. I think the worse thing that could of happened was stealing game 1. Started giving a false sense of security to people around here.

Get real man, with our injuries we couldn't be those teams in a 7 games series either.

I said the same thing to my fiancee tonight in the middle of my rant. I almost wish they'd just not won Game 1... I feel like it was an empty promise now.

I know, that's entirely selfish (lord knows they made no promises), but still. I feel let down.

Now I have no problem with people being bummed or feel let down, that is totally different then people being embarassed to be a Blazer fan.

Horseshit. When you go down 30 points in the first fucking half that is embarrassing! That is not wacked out expectations. That is just expecting to compete and the Blazers didn't do that in the 1st half.

100% correct, could you be a bigger apologist HCP?

The team losing is one thing, getting your ASS KICKED by 29 on the road and then 25 AT HOME is quite another....

Quite frankly you got players like Aldridge and Rudy showing what pussies they really are when push comes to shove....

I'll give Webster and Bayless credit, the effort is there, unfortunately it is becoming apparent that the talent is not.....

:check: The Blazers have been playing over their heads since December. I think losing Nico finally took the last bit of wind out of our sails. I'm still damned proud of this team and what they have accomplished this season.

Make all the excuses you want. I know the difference between a team putting out a good effort and a poor one. If the team had played hard last night, i would have no problem with losing. It's when they are a ghost of a team that it completely pisses me off. There is an excuse for incompetance. There is not an excuse for lack of effort.

With those four healthy, we'd be up at least 3-1. We'd be able to play a zone D, overplaying the perimeter leaving GO or Joel to clean up the mess. We could make the Suns pay for putting Hill on Miller by having Roy destroy Richardson or Nash. Richardson certainly wouldn't be going off like he has. Finally, our bench would crush the Suns' bench instead of having to play guys who should be wearing suits.

I agree totally agree with you.

Watching our team not get out to 3 point shooters and missing free throws, etc...it WAS embarrassing. I have no problem saying that or having others say it. These have been 2 really crappy games in a row!

Hmmm, the zone against the best outside shooting team in the league doesn't exactly seem like a recipe for success. Regardless, I never said Phoenix would be favored in a 7 game series against a fully healthy Blazers roster I just said they'd be a tough out.

Its not the fact we LOST its the fact we stunk! Our guys are hurt and that's that, but we did not play with 1 ounce of conviction, dedication, or worth. I am not saying I am embarrassed we lost I am saying I am embarrassed our own trailblazers straight folded for 2 games in a row getting beat like they were a high school team. Its also unfortunate that my posting about being embarrassed was used by some to lay claim that they are somehow better blazer fans and thats some funny childhood type manipulation ***s

I am not embarassed to be fine. I was a fine during the Telfair era so I am pretty much immune to embarassment.

However, the team should be mighty embarassed by their own play. They didn't play hard so they don't deserve to feel anything else.

Play hard and still loose, fair enough. Play with no effort and loose, you are pathetic.
