Those guys at the SEC make an average of $222,418.

Anyhow, nero fiddles while rome burns. Free health care, medical marijuana, extended unemployment benefits, and porn. What more could a taxpayer ask for? Well, I guess there aren't so many taxpayers anymore.

the 222,418 was an "up to", not an average. Other articles stated that the 31 made between 100k and 222k.

    Regardless, not cool.

The more time government officials spend looking at porn, the less time they have to oppress us citizens.

Would you have the same reaction if they had wasted their time on nonsexual websites? Are you mad because they wasted their time, or because they were sexually libertine? How many of you are posting here from work?

    Good question.

For myself, I am just peeved they didn't do their job. The whole "they were looking at porn!" story is just irrelevant.

    It is both for me.

If it was just looking at porn, I would hardly care. If it was not regulating, I would care a lot. If it was looking at porn instead of regulating, I think that is even worse. If they were doing anything semi-productive on our tax dollars instead of regulating, I'd be slightly less upset.

So looking at porn is a tiny part of this for me.

I'm with OMG - there are people in the REAL WORLD hurting for jobs and these guys are overpaid, didn't do their jobs, and now it appears we're paying them to entertain themselves.

A little of both. But the bottom line is that when one considers the women in the porn industry that are, essentially, sex slaves or working in it against their will... your cavalier attitude towards it strikes me as rather sad. Yes, it's bad enough if they are on any non work related websites, and yes it's worse because it's porn and they are at work using public money for their perverse addictions.
