Drawing Jerry Sloan's praises are hard enough for anyone, let alone a rookie. Wesley Matthews has more than likely worked himself onto the roster, and could even be starting with the injury to C.J. Miles. It's amazing what a little effort all around can do for you when you play for Sloan, as so far he has been playing hardnose ball on both ends, and definitely looks like a Jazzman. He is still a rookie, so it should be interesting if he can keep up the good effort. Boxscores: Utah Jazz v. Denver Nuggets - 6pts 1-4 FG 1-1 3pt 2 STL 0 TO Utah Jazz v. Re: Hidden Gem? Wes Matthews just had his best game of the year against the Spurs in primetime. Could this be his coming out party as a good role player?
He had a solid preseason too. It's going to be tough to get him in the rotation though once Korver & CJ are back.
Wes Matthews has really developed into a good player in Sloan's system, and really looks like a player. The energy he brings along with Price off the bench is amazing, and he's a big reason of Utah's recent resurgence.
Some pick-up Matthews has ended up being, I'm so happy this guy made the roster. I can't believe there was ever a doubt that he wouldn't now.
