Re: WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber (Apr. 24th)

Garcia/Zombie was a hell of a fight. No matter what happens until January that fight will be FOTY.

The rest of the card was good as well.

I was on the fence whether to buy it or not but I'm glad I did now. The WEC delivers, as always.

Re: WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber (Apr. 24th)

Missed the fights, I had to work.

Aldo is a damn beast. Nobody in the world is beating him @ that weight class.

Faber, the game has evolved passed you. You're always fun to watch and had a great run, but I don't want to see you get a title shot again. It is time for you to just have great, entertaining fights.

    Brown, you're done, too.

Hopefully I can catch some of these fights on the interwebz.

This was exactly the kind of show you'd expect to see with guys trying to prove themselves, not just content to be on the PPV.

Yeah but he's in no hurry.

Boy, did he look like Anderson Silva tonight. Carbon copy.

He has talked about being champ at 135 as well, so maybe that is more likely?

I don't expect him to be in a hurry. He is still young. Let him clean out the 145 division, first.

So, who are they gonna feed Aldo next? Manvil??

and yeah I agree the 145 division has really passed Faber by, He might try dropping a weight class, He could be good in the 135 division.

Can't really argue against Gamburyan getting the next shot.

Dunno if Faber can make 135... especially with his buddy Joe Benavidez trying to get that belt.

No real surprises--Gamburyan, Henderson, Garcia and Jung take home the $65,000 bonuses.

I hope Dana slipped most of these guys some extra cash tonight after they all fought so hard.

Okay, this was my first WEC to watch, me and my roomies went up to one of the local bars to watch it. I was really expecting a better fight between Aldo and Faber. Aldo dominated the match throughout the entire bout and really schooled Faber in my opinion. He went straight at Faber's legs. Major credit to Faber for taking a beating in the last minute and a half of the third round where Aldo had him pinned on the ground and did head shots constantly.

I really wish Aldo would have gone after Faber in the fifth round to try for the TKO or submission. He played it very very safe.

Just watched this card, damn it was a good one. Aldo v Faber, Aldo's leg kicks were great but his head movement was probably the best I've seen in MMA, Faber just couldn't land anything clean even when they got close. I thought the ref should have stopped it late in the 4th when Aldo had the crucifix and was just mashing up Faber's face, he wasn't gonna knock him out but that much uninterrupted damage to me spells the end of a fight.

Garcia v Jung was hilarious, in the 2nd round I was laughing so hard my eyes were watering, but I had at least 2 round going to Jung and maybe all 3.

Henderson v Cerrone, Henderson's confidence looks like night and day when he's standing toe to toe with someone vs when he's got a hold in any position, he's hesitant to engage standing but as soon as he locks on or gets on top he opens up and starts pounding/taking risks for subs.

    Overall a great card.

Mike Brown skipped out on his camp for 14 days. His girlfriend dumped him, causing him to go into sort of a depression. Hopefully the WEC gives him some time away so he can regroup his feelings and gather himself.
