8 games into his career scores a career high 25 points. He has not eclipsed that mark since. He's had 141 tries.
One trick ponies tend to do that. It's pretty easy to defend Rudy, just force him to put the ball on the floor and make him go left and you're golden. When he was stroking it from three with confidence he still had some nice value as a floor spacer, but now that his one bankable NBA skill has abandoned him (for who knows how long?) he's probably a worse option than Patty Mills.
I was there for his NBA debut. He looked like the best Blazer on the floor against the Lakers, confidently scoring 16 points. And now he's terrible and on his way out. I was soo glad Bayless started. Too bad Nate didn't start Bayless in Games 2 and 3.
Sergio's best year was his 1st year, too. Pritchard brought in fast break players. It's on either him or McMillan.
Well I'm sure Pritchard knew McMillans style when he drafted these players, and with the countless references he made about mirroring our building process with the Spurs, I'm guessing he wanted a team that can win in the half court (because that's what wins titles). I can't put all the blame on KP though because I think it's difficult to judge which players will have the desire to improve their weaknesses once their original strength is taken away. Rudy hasn't shown any improvement this year on becoming a better defender or slasher. Even Sergio was attempting to become a better shooter. I loved Rudy when he got here, thought he had tons of potential as recently as this summer, but his attitude and unprofessionalism have really turned me off this season. I hope Rudy and the franchise can have a come to Jesus meeting and work things out, but I'm not holding my breath.
