After the way Game 5 went, I thought they might sit Roy out for Game 6. But that's not what Roy wants. On the radio after the game, Brandon said he wants more touches and he wants to start. I'm cool with that. Our star wants to take charge. Let's let him do it. I truly believe we'll win Game 6. It's game 7 that I'm worried about.
Start him give all of Rudy's minutes to Bayless and if we cant rebound again for gods sakes put in Pendagraph.
THIS. I think Pendergraph should get some minutes. He's huge, he can rebound, block shots, and can finish at the rim. Give him 10 minutes if Camby and/or Howard are in foul trouble.
Roy has done nothing this post season to show he deserves to play, much less start. Portland has 0 chance of winning a title this year, so IMO he should sit until next year
I appreciate the fact that Roy is a gamer, but he was quite possibly the second worst player on the court last night (eclipsed only by Rudy)
Roy never really had a chance to get going due to foul trouble. The key to game 6 and game 7 (yes I think there will be one) is going to be rebounding. We can't let them get so many offensive boards...
For God's sake, it wasn't a lack of "touches." Everytime Roy touched the ball he threw it away or missed a shot. The guy is clearly not himself, and he probably never should have played at all in this series.
No doubt Roy will start Game 6. It will also help pump up the crowd when he's announced in the starting line up. Bench Rudy and give all his minutes to BATUM!
The reason he was in foul trouble is because he can't move. He can't play real defense, and has to hack and reach. I admire Roy's heart and attempt to play, but last night his defense (lack of) really hurt us, and I don't think his offensive threat made up for it. You can see he can't move laterally with any quickness, and anytime a Phoenix player had an iso on him, it was a bad result.
^^ Knee pain, Knee mobility issues, or conditioning? and the only thing he is going to start doing, is packing for home, if the same effort comes for game 6 as it did for game 5.
If he wants to start, start him. Getting him back & as close to 100% as possible gives us our best chance at winning game 7. If we lose "because" of Roy, well, I guess I can live with that.
Roy will be MUCH better in game 6. He gets an extra day of rest and he didn't play all that much in game 5 anyway. I look for him to have a break-out game.
Problem with this scenario is that he's playing on an injury that keeps players out for a month minimum.
Well, other than to hit a 3 to put Portland up by 6 with 4 minutes left of Game 4, and also hitting a pull-up jumper to put us up by 8 with 2 minutes left.
Well, I wasn't particularly happy that all of the outside shots were going in, because I figured that they would stay with this, which is the Suns' game. Attacking the rim was what won Game 4. That didn't happen at all last night. I actually thought the start, while great in terms of getting a lead, would catch up to them. Start Roy in Game 6 and have he and Miller attack the rim early in the game.
Whatever is needed to ensure Rudy never touches the court IMO. We absolutely cannot afford to have Rudy play next game, not one minute. In this last game, he came in and we went down by 10. Then in the second half, we had it down to 8, he comes in and were down by 18 in about 2 mintutes, with Rudy on the receiving end of a bunch of bad play. Totally lost on defense. No clue on offense. We cannot afford missed 3's vs PHX.
