I really think so.-The Nets have a crappy arena and poor attendance. In Brooklyn a lot more people would show up-New York is not that far away so you would get loyal Nets fans from New Jersey going to games and also the guys in New York who are tired of the Knicks-New York is a city that can deal very well with 2 sports teams. With the Knicks slumping, you will see alot of people crossing over to get seasons tickets to the Nets.Thoughts? :dribble:
I think it would be definately interesting if they moved to Brooklyn, they would definately get a lot of support from that community and it would bring a lot of money to Brooklyn. I would definately like to see it. A boston celtics vs. brooklyn nets sounds really cool
Im not sure the fans will like this and sounds like it's just asking for drama. There were rumors last year but nothing really went down.I highly doubt this will happen though because of the Knicks don't fix it up,theres not going to be anyone going to Madison Square Garden.
This is happening. Didn't you guys know? It was finalized last year. They're moving in 07-08 season. So next year is their last year in NJ.
Not 07-08, not that soon. 08-09 is the earliest but more than likely it'll be the 09-10 season. And yes, it's a great thing for the franchise. They are hardly generating any revenue in New Jersey, they need a change of venue.

I don't think they have started building the arena or anything yet, but they just finished the plans for the arena sometime this past week if I'm not mistaken.I also think this is a good move for the Nets' organization. They weren't doing that well in New Jersey in terms of generating revenue and filling the seats, so the move will broaden their fanbase while still allowing their NJ fans to follow the team and attend games if they so desire.
I really hate it. I have loved the Nets for as long as I can remember and I think it absolutely sucks that they are moving this team. New York has the Knicks, they dont need another team. The NJ Devils are moving to Newark and building a brand new arena. The Nets could have easily joined them and stayer in NJ. Im really dreading it and I hate the thought of my team leaving..I dont care what you say about attendance or CAA, but I love this team and I hate to see them leave. Sure its not much further away, but its going to be completely different. They will no longer be the NEW JERSEY Nets, it just wont be the same..
I understand why seeing you probably live in Jersey. But come on man. You have to understand it. A good team in New York would create a lot of revenue. The Nets are the 3rd best team in the East and no one turns up to see them. Thats just a joke. Their arena is crap as well. They're in need for a change. And relocating your team down the road is the thing to do.
The attendance has gone up and is in the middle of the pack now. The arena is old, but I dont think its that bad, having been there a good 20 someting times. I love the Nets and its really going to suck to see them move. Just the fact that they are going to be in a different state is going to be really tough to get used to. They could easily move to Newark with the Devils and join in on their project. Or, they could just stay in the meadowlands which is getting completely redone. They are adding public transportation, Xanadu is coming in, and the Jets/Giants are getting a new stadium. I know to other people it doesnt seem like a big deal, but just the fact that the wont be the New Jersey Nets anymore is going to be really rough..
