I miss this guy. and against the Suns, no less:
Memorial thread? lol... It is funny though that Rudy had more FGAs in that second clip in the 2 seconds of play than he did the whole Game 5.
We should do an interview on all those people greeting him at the airport and see what they think of him now.
We just do not play the tempo or style that Rudy fits in with. I am very unhappy with his play lately, but I kind of expected the Spaniard to follow the likes of Sergio, etc under Nate.
How'd Sergio do in Sacramento and New York under faster tempos? The reality is that Rudy is a huge liability under any system that you're expected to play defense or be able to drive to the basket.
Not good, but maybe we have to give it a while for him to go back to being feral? LOL. I don't know. It just seems as though Rudy doesn't fit into our style of play. /shrug.
Rudy's in a huge slump. He definitely has talent, but we just haven't seen it in a month. If he was in this type of slump, but trying, and not complaining, then I would say weather the storm. I just don't know that he will ever be the Rudy of old here.
Look at his splits month by month ... he's just had a horrible season, not just an off month. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/f/fernaru01/splits/2010/
I guess you are right -- yikes. His 3 pt. % wasn't that bad in March and honestly that is about what he is good for. But you are right, not much of a way to sugarcoat this season.
Our team play Sucks, He needs to play on a Good Team to Play Good. One that actually has ball movement. Fact of the Matter
Yes, that might get him some more open jumpers. But being a spot-up shooting specialist, you'd better be an amazing shooter, like a Steve Kerr. And even Kerr wasn't hugely valuable. To me, the fact of the matter is this: Rudy's shooting, passing and finishing skills will never add up to anything more than an average bench player unless he gains the ball-handling skills to create his own space. At his age, it's extremely unlikely he'll suddenly learn them. I don't think Rudy is worthless...but he's not all that valuable. He may be, perhaps, the very definition of fatally flawed. He has absolutely everything, on the offensive side of the ball...except the one thing that would make everything else valuable.
He might reprise a poor man's rendition of Glen Rice's Lakers days. But I don't see how he'd end up in LA. Portland would have to trade him there, since he's under contract. Unless you mean you hope he goes to LA in a few years.
yep, Exactly. And he'd get to play with his buddy Pau. I just think he'd be great in a motion offense
