By Bulls standards, he's now vastly overqualified for most every job in the organization.

Isaacson at ESPN Chicago has a bit more on why the decision hasn't formally been made:
That is, nothing happens without Jerry's ok. Which is ok, it's his team and all. But don't lose sight of that fact and say someone else is calling the shots.

He may be calling the big shots...

Anyone notice Skiles has the Bucks up 3-2 against Atlanta? Amazing what he can do with a decimated roster (Redd and Bogut out), a rookie PG nowhere near as good as Rose, another PG surely not as good as Kurt, nobody as good as Noah, etc....

Two obvious reasons - less of a clusterfuck of a management team, and he has more guys who can score.

Or he is without question a better coach than Vinny. Management has nothing to do with in game strategy. I don't know where you come up with this stuff. And their backcourt shoots much worse than the bulls and isn't as offensively talented. They aren't better scorers. Skiles just puts them in a better position than Vinny can.

How does your own response (about management) square with Skiles' inability to make 2nd round (more than once) with a better roster (yeah, the one with healthy Gordon, Deng, Hinrich, et al)?

Kirk Hinrich, our starting SG shoots .408. John Salmons, their starting SG shoots .467 and scores 1 pt less per game than our all star. Their first guard off the bench, Ridnour, does all the things Kirk does only better - especially shooting (.478/.381 vs. Kurt's .409/.371). So much for their backcourt "shooting much worse" than ours.

Skiles can draw up a play for a 3pt shot with the team down 3 and have a chance to tie - HUGE difference, and that does say something about management who put the team together as well.

    Milwuakee has 8 guys who shot > .333% from 3pt, 6 > .350. Bulls have 2 guys who shot > .333% from 3pt.

But Kirk shoots better than the Bucks starting PG by a lot. And the bulls backcourt averages more assists and a much better ast/TO. And I love how you cherry pick kirk against their entire roster. Plus, kirk is still the PG on offense. Why can't you figure that out? Rose is the primary scorer. PG/SG doesn't really apply to the way the bulls play their offense.

And those guys shoot better because they get better looks because they are in a better system. Vinny is renowned for the shitty offense the bulls run. They run a grand total of five plays. Hinrich was a much better shooter and scorer under skiles and imagine what Rose would have done under skiles...

Not to mention the fact that for the season Salmons only averaged 15.4 ppg. If that's not a testament to how much better of a coach skiles is than vinny, I don't know what is.

Or it's a testament to playing alongside guys who can hit 3 pointers.

His numbers were similar alongside Gordon, for example.

I think Skiles is a better coach, however, what you said is exactly what happened. We didnt have at least one 3 pt threat. It make Salmons struggle.

We had gordon and tim thomas last year after the trade. There wasnt any added pressure on John when he went to the Bucks. He fit in, the same way he did with us after the deadline last season.
