Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) If Kobe was at last year's level, I think we would be solid favorites. That just isn't the case.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) I have plenty of confidence in this team. We are deep enough and we have the best coach in the league.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) Ron isn't terrible offensively, we just aren't utilizing him properly. He is a solid player down low in the post and when Bynum or Gasol are out of the game, we should get him down there. Phil did it last night and it worked wonders. Nobody is short changing Ariza here. He was a key role player last year. He had a decision to make and he made it. Time to move on. Fact is Artest is a much better on ball defender and it has shown against Durant so far.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) He has the team under control. One of Phil Jackson’s best coaching jobs ever
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) http://www.82games.com/0910/0910LAL.HTM He insists on playing with someone with worst NET value than Adam Morrison (Blue column in chart). The sign of a novice in my opinion, it is a crime how much leeway he gives Fish.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) Ron has been terrible this series on the offensive side of the ball with the exception of last night. It's not asking too much for him to make a respectable amount of his good looks. And yeah you were short changing Ariza but it's all good. Ultimately the Lakers made the decision when it came to Ariza but his agent was primarily at fault. I've moved on. It would just be a luxury to have a guy that could help space the floor like he did last season during the playoffs.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) Ron has been terrible so far offensively, but he's the kind of player that can play at a higher level and I love his defense so we should be fine. He's been a solid but not great fit, Ariza would have been adequate in his own way as well.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) I don't care. He is aiming the title. There is more to the game of basketball than NET value, he knows that the team will need Fisher's leadership when it matters.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) If you care about titles then it should indeed matter. He's ignoring a cancer on his team. It is widely known by any metric that Fisher is atrocious.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) Come on "atrocious"? Your being just a little hard on him dont you think lol. When the games on the line, I trust him and I want him out on the court. Although as I typed that flashes of him dribbling out the clock and being blocked when he took the game winner just weeks ago raced to my mind lol.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) Sorry, I prefer to trust the guy that has 10 rings. Phil obviously knows what he is doing and I think he sees in Fischer an important part of this team, that will be needed in critical times and he can't mess with the guy's confidence.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) With the game on the line? Funny you should mention that. :] http://www.82games.com/0910/09LAL2.HTM#clutch Yeah he still sucks, he's old.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) I didn't know shooting a terrible percentage and not being able to defend point guards is what leads to 10 rings. Worst defensive rating out of the playoff rotation. Only Luke Walton beats him and he doesn't see the court much.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) Stats can be misleading. Obviously they can't be ignored but we all know Fisher makes big shots. We've seen it too many times to think otherwise. It's like when analyst bring up the fact that Carmelo and other stars shoot a better percentage when it comes to game winners than Kobe does. But we as Lakers fans wouldn't want the ball in any other players hands in the entire universe when it comes down to that last shot. That comparison is some what of a stretch I know, I just trust Fisher for the most part in big games especially when we dont have any other guards that lead me to believe that they could do better.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) And I can't deny that he gets burned over and over again on defense. The man has some pretty tough competition when it comes to point guards in the west though. Position wise I think he faces the toughest competition during the playoffs than any of the other Lakers.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) If Fisher is so clutch why does he think he can take most of the game off then? Either way you look at it he's terrible. Fisher had a good series against the Orlando Magic, aside from that he has clearly been a nuisance since the 09 playoffs.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) When exactly did I short change Ariza? Please, tell me. And because he had one good run in the playoffs knocking down 3's he can automatically space the floor? He's a career 32% shooter from beyond the arc. In contrast, Artest is a career 34% shooter. Not much of a difference, but still %-wise, Artest is a better shooter.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) "Fuck Trevor"..... "I guarantee Trevor wouldn't be doing much better, if at all, than Artest right now."..... "He went on a hot streak last year and he clearly came back down to earth this year."..... All your quotes from the past 2 days. I would call that short changing him slightly at the least. Hell last season you claimed he was a "slimmer, quicker Caron Butler". A year later he was just having a "hot streak". Your thoughts on Ariza changed a good bit didn't they? You being so positive you guarantee Ariza couldn't do much better on offense than Artest was is short changing him.
Re: 1st round: OKC Thunder vs LA Lakers (Lakers lead 3-2) Fuck Trevor because Lakers' fans keep bitching about him being gone. He's gone, he could have stayed...but he didn't. Good for him, he got his contract. Never did I discredit what he did for us.
