He's slightly above average in the PER department at 16 and a change of scenery is probably all he needs. Coming out of Kansas State he was College basketball's elite scorer. A season very similar to Durant's freshman year.

South Beach has too many temptations for a player like Michael Beasley. Playing in a city like Miami is probably the worst thing that could have happened to him.

He's very available this summer and if he can get his head on straight he has the talent to be a very good PF.

    Yay or nay?

If I thought he was "that good" I'd possibly say yes, but I really don't think he's that good as an NBA player. One of those guys whose college game will just not translate that well to the pro game.

He'd be a score for the Blazers, IMO, but I don't think you would want to trade what he's worth to get him.

BTW there were 27 players ahead of him (only PF) for the season with a higher PER

Trade Rudy and filler for him. Might light a fire under LMA.

While the off-court stuff is a little worrisome (in the "I hope he doesn't get suspended" way, not in a "he's immoral and he makes baby Jesus cry" kind of way) maybe he is worth the risk, but one of the biggest knocks on him appears to be that Spoelstra can't seem to get him to play defense. It's tempting, but I think I'd pass -- too much risk for maybe not enough reward.

Agreed. Much more than this and I don't know he makes sense.

I can't imagine that the Heat would give him away for that, though, as they try to show Wade they're committed to winning.

It's possible that the Nets will get him.

Depends on what it will take to get him. He's crazy talented, but doesn't have a coach in MIA to hone into that talent.

Beasley? Only if we are trying to intentionally trying to build the "All Draft Bust" roster with Oden, Beasley, Rudy and Martell. We could swing a deal for Darko to round out the rotation.

Isn't it about time Iverson and 'dre finally played together?

Also how can it truly be the "All Draft Bust" roster without Adam Morrison.

I'll say an easy Yay from me, but there's no chance we can get him, IMO. He'd either be used in a S&T for one of the top PFs, or used to clear his salary. Without cap space, we can't hhelp them there, but there's certain to be some team who would tak eon his salary. Just can't see it happening. But, he'd be an awesome 6th man for us. Would slide into the role people want to bring Travis back for.

because the Blazers actually did a good job of passing on him... but heaven forbid we mention that! It wouldnt add to the "incompetence of this front office" argument :)
