Widnes will once more have to cope with serious injury woes when Co-operative Championship leaders Featherstone Rovers visit Stobart Stadium Halton tonight (ko 8pm).

Despite missing upwards of a dozen first team squad members, the Vikings have come through their last two games against French side Lezignan and Batley with a pair of victories under their belt.

Coach Paul Cullen is immensely proud of the way his young team has performed, but he knows that Rovers represent an even bigger challenge.

He said: “We know it’s going to be tough.

“They’re playing very well as everybody saw on TV against Keighley last week.

“Against Lezignan, we had seven homegrown players – all teenagers.

“Against Batley we had six, and we’re still coming through.”
