A year ago, 76ers president and general manager Ed Stefanski hired the first coach he officially interviewed: Eddie Jordan.

On Monday, according to an NBA source, Stefanski is set to make Avery Johnson the first official interview of this season's coaching search, a search that has quickened after a slow start following Jordan's firing on April 15.

Stefanski, whose own job is still not guaranteed, has contacted at least two candidates: Johnson, former coach of the Dallas Mavericks, and Doug Collins, former NBA coach and TNT analyst.

Also on Stefanski's list is Dwane Casey, assistant coach with the Mavericks; Tom Thibodeau, assistant coach with the Boston Celtics; and Mike Budenholzer, assistant coach with the San Antonio Spurs.
