You should always open a window when you are using chemicals with fumes such as airplane glue, lacquer...
I would trade Roy for CP3, LeBron, Wade and that's about it. Maybe Deron Williams. It's crazy to trade him for a power forward...and slide Aldridge to the 3.
Would I trade Roy? Sure. But I'd rather try to trade Nate first and see if he's the problem before I'd make massive changes like that.
That's an interesting idea, but I don't think we could clear any more bad contracts for them besides Hedo. By my rough calculations it would take Aldridge, Pryzbilla, Miller, Webster and Rudy just to match the two contracts of Bosch and Hedo. I think we would want their first round draft pick back also in that deal. I don't think they would consider Aldridge a bad contract. They are tired of losing and since free agents don't want to go to Canada, I think they would a welcome a good young PF who is tied up for a few years. Maybe we then could find a stopgap PG and try to use two first round picks to obtain a young PG with a lot of potential.
Trade Roy? Not for the package you mentioned.... But here is the deal, if Roy is going to be insistent on the type of offense that we are currently playing, then you either have to try and put more...err...better players to complement around him...but quite frankly our Roy "iso" offensen just cannot get it done...not an NBA title, it works fine for most of the regular season, but good teams\defenses particularly in the playoffs just ANNHILATE that offense... I give Roy kudos for trying to come back and be a difference, but he has to adapt to a different offensive philosophy than the one we are currently using...if he is insistent that we continue on with it, then it may be in our best interest to part ways with him.....
I'd trade Roy for the right return. To get back a player like James, Wade or Paul, sure. Not for Bosh or Amare. James and Wade won't be moved. If there was some way to swap Roy and Paul and save New Orleans some money (inducing them to do it), I'd be happy to.
Yes, I'd move him for Durant. I think they're comparably good, but Durant still has some upside and he's significantly less of a health risk. I'd trade him for Howard, as Howard is more valuable. However, Howard is less of a fit. The hope then would be able to swing either Howard or Oden for an impact perimeter player (a better one than Roy if Howard were the one traded...that's unlikely, so Oden would have to be traded).
Lol who gives up CP3 for Roy? Or LBJ or Wade. Bosh however, is a reasonable deal. I take Bosh over Roy any day. The Raps have a good team, they just need another elite player as HK said. Hedo could be that guy if he decides to take his head out of his ass.
Only a team that needs money. There is absolutely no other reason a team would give up Paul for Roy. No one. But people weren't saying that the Blazers could trade Roy for those players. Just that it would take a player like that (one clearly better) to induce a deal for Roy. Hedo has never been that guy, in his entire career. Maybe he's played with his head up his ass all along. If so, that IS an impressive display of talent.
The Thread is simple: Would you part with Roy? I think that there is consensus that says, "yes," provided we got back Paul, Lebron or Wade. Personally, I would not trade Roy for either Paul or Wade. Of course, if Lebron were to have some desire to play in Portland (yeh, right!) over New York, LA, Chicago, NJ or Miami (big markets where endorsement money would fatten his wallet), we'd all take him over Roy. I suppose my thinking is that I would consider parting with Roy to obtain Bosh, provided we simultaneously then pursued another major deal to sign a top 2; perhaps Joe Johnson? Someone who would clearly be a solid scoring 2.
