2 years 2nd in Central - Lost in first round (7 games) 3rd in Central - Lost in first round (5 games) Playoffs totals 12 games. 4-8. He sounds like a GREAT young coach. I can't believe they'd fire someone like that.
Somehow you forgot a couple of pieces of his resume that probably had a little more to do with his release -blew the biggest lead in league history when Sacramento came back from 31 down to pinch his club -tried to choke out his boss. Trivial matters, I know.
I thought Paxson tried to choke him, not the other way around. That said, I could be wrong...I don't pay a lot of attention to Front Office Wrestling. It's all fake, anyway. Maybe we can get Del Negro to replace McMillan!
You're not exactly wrong, it was first reported that Pax tried to choke him out and then like a week later a different account was released saying that it was the other way around ... which basically means, "who knows"
Which is like the time Rudy Tomjanovich punched Kermit Washington. (this is an very old joke, KW actually punched RT and shattered his jaw. Now that I think about it, the joke wasn't very funny).
KW punched RT and shattered his cheekbone, if I remember right. It was a powerful punch with RT on the move, making it worse. Ainge bit Rollins, but what would you expect?
Yeah, he's pretty sly. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AjPGTzqeLNX2xjuKeb43Jdi8vLYF?slug=ap-ainge-toweltoss
Do we really want to talk about all the gigantic leads Portland teams have blown? 25 points against Philadelphia and Utah ring a bell?
Did you ever see the Garrett Morris skit on SNL where he said that everyone was racist for insinuating it was Kermit's punch that did the damage to Rudy? "Look at this film. Why he just grazed the cat. Whoops! Let's look at it from another angle"
He actually disintegrated his mandible. I use the word "disintegrated" purposefully. In fact, the doctor asked Tomjanovich if he tasted anything bitter. Rudy nodded his head, and the doctor said, "that's the taste of spinal fluid; one of the bone shards pierced the sac that contains it."
