Does anyone else think the NYC car bomb plot seems fishy?

I dunno, this story doesnt make sense to me.....something isnt quite right

A guy who supposedly trained in a terrorist camp only a few weeks ago doesnt even know how to make a fertilizer bomb?!? I mean I dont know how to make one but Id imagine with 5 minutes of google search I would know what to do and just need the supplies. HE DIDNT EVEN USE THE RIGHT FERTILIZER!

The dude wrapped some fireworks around a propane tank...are you kidding me?!?! You think some legal fireworks are going to bust a hole in a metal propane tank?!? Shit, they probably just made a little black mark on the side of the canister that could be wiped off. Oh BTW...the canister valves were CLOSED!!

Then he also has two plastic gas canisters...i guess those were supposed to go off after the supposed fertilizer bomb went off...seems like he left A LOT to chance.

Now the terrorists are claiming responsibility for it.....Im sorry but if somebody goes to a terrorist training camp and there one mission was to make a car bomb you would think they would train /learn how to make a car bomb....Really....wtf???

    Something doesnt add up....

    Thoughts?

Also, his car lights were flashing as well as his hazard lights.

I don't think there is an IQ test to be a terrorist.

Do they have to put him on waivers and see if any other camps claim him?

just because they are terrorists doesnt mean they are mentally incompetant...

I mean cmon, compared to all the other elaborate things terrorists take credit for this really doesnt seem to have their signature on it

They don't cut them, those are the ones who are the suicide bombers. They get the "72 Virgins!" diploma.

While the bomb was botched, it does make sense that if the gasoline caught fire, it would heat up all the rest of the stuff and make it all pretty volatile.

I also heard on the news this AM that the thing caught fire as he was parking the van so he basically had to get out and run away. Maybe before he could bother to notice the hazard lights were on and those sorts of things.

Maybe he was demoted to 'Terrorist Help Desk' and pulled this stunt to try and get a promotion.

The fact he was in a terrorist training camp a few weeks ago, then had no problem at all getting through our "Homeland Security" into NYC then was able to accumulate all these items and come within a spark of killing hundreds of people, should at least make it obvious to all that our "Department of Homeland Security" is not and never was intended as any kind of response/defense to foreign threats to our country.

It is and always has been solely for the purpose of controlling/disarming/de-mobilizing US Citizens when the time comes that the Federal Government deems it appropriate or desirable to impose martial law.

Nobody but you seems controlled ;)

But seriously, it was an alert citizen who brought the thing to the attention of the authorities, and they acted rather swiftly and nobody was hurt. All around, a win?

Its odd he had the wherewithal to get a plane ticket to the UAE--presumably purchased online?--but not to take ten minutes to plan things out a little better.

That being said, maybe he was nervous about accumulating certain items that might cause suspicion and made due with what he could get his hands on easily.

I was under the impression he was linked to a newly formed terrorist group, and not one with much experience or was working with just a small group of people independently?
