I missed the game but they scored 2 in the 3rd period to send it into OT. Then a bad shift change in the OT turned into a 2 on 1 break away, where Joe Thornton found Marleau who finished it with Howard way out of the net. Great win!
Sharks beat Red Wings 4-3 in OT, lead series 3-0 Joe Thornton and the San Jose Sharks took a huge step toward quieting their critics. Thornton’s assist set up Patrick Marleau’s winning score 7:07 into overtime and his second goal in two games sparked a comeback for San Jose, which beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 on Tuesday night and grabbed a 3-0 lead in the second-round series. The sweet-passing center has been called “No Show Joe” by some for not producing in the playoffs. “I don’t know how this evolved, but you saw a very determined nineteen,” Sharks coach Todd McLellan said, referring to Thornton by his jersey number. Thornton, meanwhile, shrugged off what he had done. “Business as usual,” he said. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/recap;_ylt=AqgMBWNqLU7IUr.EJUFfFJR7vLYF?gid=2010050405
I saw the game for a bit. Actually was working on my speech about safety for youth hockey. I don't think the Sharks can sweep the Wings.
Watched the first two periods of this game and then the last several minutes of OT. Its fucking odd to see the Sharks making the Red Wings look like the Sharks- being down most of the game then coming back in the nick of time and pulling off the win. The game winning goal was terribly played by the Wings' goalie. I still half-expected Marleau to miss that though lol. Up 3-0...its the perfect set up for the Sharks to out-do themselves in playoff choking.
