My friend just made the perfect analogy. We would be the Real Madrid of the NBA. LOTS of star power, no more championships. I don't see why you guys aren't thinking the way we are. Bosh+Pau+Kobe seems disgustingly good, but do you guys realize how much time each of those players need the ball in their hands? Plus, you just can't add Bosh's current numbers to Laker stats just like that, with Pau his stats are probably going to go down quite a bit. That is why I love Noah. Pau is the offensive, Noah the incredible defense, we probably get Hinrich as well, AND still have the MLE? Sure, if we are offered Bosh for Bynum, we would be stupid NOT to take it, but I don't think it's going to be a "guaranteed dynasty." We need more glue guys. We already have the stars.
Of course Bosh owns noah... hands down... i just meant i would consider a downgrade at the C or PF position if it meant an upgrade at the Point. Who could we get at the point for the MLE? Can't think of anyone. Hinrich? Devin Harris? LOL!!!
Imo, this would be an obvious deal for the Lakers, and with Bosh likely leaving, it would make sense for the Raptors as well. I just would rather not see a Lakers 15-peat if that's ok. And that's not to rip on Bynum, just that Bosh has shown he has that "it" factor that Bynum doesn't quite have yet.
We're adding Chris Bosh not Allen Iverson, that analogy doesn't work. Chris is very efficient with the ball, I don't care if he hogs a little he is an all-star. The only thing Bosh has to worry about is being better than Bynum, that's it. Pau's numbers are not going to get affected at all, it is Bosh or Kobe that will have to defer. Pau has a very reasonable usage rate and Kobe needs to save juice for the post-season. Seems like a no-brainer to me who needs to give up the ball. Do you want to see Kobe limp into the playoffs again? I'm wondering why you're protesting the possible addition of another creator. Noah isn't close to Bosh's league, so even if Bosh has problems giving up the ball he still owns Noah.
No reason to toss away Bynum either for just any big. If we keep him and get rid of Fisher that still solves most of our problems. We need some real perimeter depth.
I'm saying fix only what's broken. We need a PG, so get Hinrich. We need more toughness and consistent rebounding, so get Noah. Yeah, I agree, Bosh>Noah, but I still think it is going to be tough to feed both Pau and Bosh and neither get in the other's way. And do you REALLY think Kobe will open to becoming a 3rd option so that Pau and Bosh could be 1 and 2, respectively? Unless we are trading Pau for Bosh (which would ONLY make sense if we get a couple of assets in return such as a pick and Marcus Banks), I think we should explore the Bulls trade before Bosh. But, if Toronto does come to us and asks for a straight up Bynum and Bosh swap, we would be stupid to say no to that.
Look, Bynum is better than Noah. I am not a Bynum fan at all we just don't need Noah. We don't need "toughness" either that's a silly stereotype that comes from I don't know where. Our bigs also have excellent rebound rates. We need a point who can shoot and/or defend, pretty much anyone is better than Fisher. Hinrich has tailed off in recent years and is about to be 30. I am not giving up Chris Bosh for him. If Toronto is not offering Chris we might as well keep Andrew and look for a point guard. We let Kobe play through all those injuries and log in so many minutes. We allowed Phil to suck up to Derek Fisher all year. If we make Kobe touch the ball as much as Brandon Roy does the trade would be more seamless. Roy has a similar enough style and gets his teammates involved rather well. Plus Kobe's body will ask him to defer a little more each year anyway. Chris Bosh currently plays with someone in the frontcourt who uses the ball more than Pau. No need to bring up that issue.
http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/LAL/2010.html http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/TOR/2010.html In the advanced chart, "USG%". Bargnani is not as efficient as Pau, but requires slightly more touches.
Chris Bosh(notes) will be one of the big-name free agents available on July 1 and unlike Dwyane Wade(notes) and LeBron James(notes), it is fully expected that he won't be re-signing with the Toronto Raptors. According to the Toronto Star, Bosh has been giving off a lot of signs recently that he's soon to be history in Toronto. He apparently made some changes on his Twitter account, eliminating Toronto as his location and making it "Everywhere." And he took off a part in his biography that identified him as the captain of the Raptors. Plus, he was sitting courtside in Southern California Tuesday night for the Los Angeles Lakers-Utah Jazz playoff standoff and tweeted, "Sitting here watching the games wishing I was playing. I wonder if that MVP trophy is heavy?" Say goodbye to Bosh, Toronto.
Lmao. Pry? you can have him! if you thought fisher had a hard time staying infront of Westbrook, you'll love Calderon. Ps i agree that Toronto is unlikely to get a better deal than Bynum and would love this deal to go down, he would probably be a good complement to Bargnani. Good low post scorer, good rebounder, everything Bargs is not. However, i was wondering how LA would hand this financially, with Kobe's extension and Bosh likely demanding a max contract

kobe23??? (hahaha sorry man, i had to) EDIT: They were showing everyone at Game 2 of the Jazz-Lakers game, eastern conference semifinals. Now, I'm huge Raptors fan but Bosh on the Lakers. Kobe and Bosh, best combo ever. Kid, ever hear of Kobe and Shaq?? Magic and Kareem?? Jordan and Pippen?? What a waste of a video.
