Hackleman would make an amazing pirate. He sounded like he was yelling directions to his crew when he was yelling @ his fighter during the fight.

1:25 left in the 2nd round--anyone else catch Hackleman's F-bomb that went uncensored?

Nah, I'll have to watch it again.

Those fuckin' guys were fighting underwater in the second and third rounds. I thought we left this shit behind with the heavyweights. How can you get on this show and not be in shape?

I think their conditioning is fine, actually. They are taking fights on 2-3 days notice and training throughout the show. Its not like they have a 3 month fight camp to train and improve their stamina and cardio.

Anyone else find it funny how Tito questioned one of his fighters about their injuries and said they were just making excuses?

    Pot, meet kettle.

Its not like they couldn't have showed up in shape from the jump.

Yeah. I don't blame Tito anymore, though. He's just an ignoramus. Actually if you watch "The Aftermath" on Spiketv.com somebody poses that exact question to Josh and Kris. Pretty funny, actually.

Maybe they did show up in shape, though?

They fight to get into the house, they have some pretty tough training sessions throughout the day, and then they fight on 2-3 days notice. I mean, for the most part, the ones who get into the UFC and get fights in the UFC show a better gas tank when they've had time to run proper training camps.

It was an ugly fight, but was still exciting for me becuase the underdog won . . . and Tito's team lost again. :D

I thought Liddell made some pretty bad choices during the "draft" . . . shows how much I know. I am also coming to the opinion that Liddell doesn't do much, it is really the assistant coaches that teach and play the corner man. I wouldn't be surprised if the assistants made the decsions on who to pick for Liddell's team.

As much as I don't like Tito, I think he is a better coach than Liddell . . . but I think Lidell's assistant coaches are the best MMA minds on the show . . . am I off track here?

I think Liddell's a better coach. Tito is running his fighters into the ground.

Just based on what we see on the show, the coaching styles are very different. It appears that Chuck relies more on his assistants, while Tito is more "hands on".

Assuming that is true, and not just a trick of the editing, I'm not sure either approach is "superior". It rather depends on the personality of the individual student.

I think they've show less of Chuck working with his team, but they have been some clips. IMO Chuck is not a rounded fighter so he's smart to let his assistants do a lot of the work.

and yeah I think Tito may be running the guys into the ground a little hence the gassing.

I don't think Nick Ring's win over Court McGee was controversial. Court landed a few punches but most of his attacks were blocked. Nick landed a lot of leg kicks and was able to get some position on him when the fight went to the ground the second time in the first round. Court's take-down amounted to laying and nothing more.

    Coaches challenge was great.

That decision was BS IMO. Court threw more, landed more impactful strikes and had the TD. Nick laid on top of him for the end of round 1 and did nothing in round 2.

it should have gone to a 3rd round. Nick's leg kicks in the 2nd amounted to weak jabs. Yeah they connected but were more glancing blows as opposed to damaging shots. Court threw more and landed more punches and no one got a take down.

    the fight was 1-1.

I was not impressed with Ring.

Besides his leg kicks I don't see much else from him. Maybe he has knockout power (he certainly talked about it) or can sumit on the ground, but it didn't show in this fight.

I thought it shoud have gone 3. In fact when they had a decision, I thought court pulled it out because it seem clear he won round 2.

I wonder if there was a talking to the judges (after last fight) that if the fighters looked gassed, make a decision. Sometimes a 3rd round where both fighters are tired ruins the fight. think Dana would have a talk like that with the judges? I think Lidell felt like the fix was in.

I read over @ shitdog that Ring decided to act gay to put on a show and bother the people in the house. He is a very saucy person!!!

I agreed with Liddell that his fighter controlled the first 3 minuntes of round 1 and did more in those 3 minutes than Ring did in the last two minutes just laying on top. And round 2, I thought Court won, as well.

I had Court 2-0. Oh well.

Have to say that while the fights haven't been very technical or interesting, they have at least been competitive and hard-fought. This season hasn't produced a genuine great fight yet but it looks likely it will.

Also, the coaching rivalry between Liddell and Ortiz has either been deliberately understated or it is mostly a device for UFC marketing. Rampage/Rashad got after each other on every episode. Chuck and Tito haven't even had words yet.

Also, as much of an ass as he is, I'm glad Kacey Uscola got a second chance. He was turning his fight around when he got DQ'd which makes me wonder WTF he was thinking--maybe just got too excited and lost focus. I'm also happy Hammortree didn't because he was fucking boring--at least McCray had a few minutes of good.

Ya know, I am begining to wonder if the whole "Ortiz leaves" story is a swerve. It's getting pretty late in the competition to make a coaching switch.
