I'm using XP with Google Chrome, and I don't have the problem. Maybe try Firefox instead of Internet Explorer
Great work guys! I wonder if the people who complain about the new layout also voted for Obama and his "change".
Thanks... probably, but we'll fix them. Really. We've placed a series of subliminal, crypto-fascist messages throughout the site. I expect sales of Murray Rothbard and Ayn Rand books to skyrocket in the Portland area any day now...
Ads - still gone Column - still there Red/Black styling and Ripcitytwo banner are now gone. This is not A change I can believe in. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to listen to some Rush albums.
No way man, they are the people that want to see Sportstwo's papers proving the site is locally hosted
Crapola. Ok, I feel defeated. Here's the deal. I can make the right column go away (I think it's just stored in your iphone's cache, I've tested on my wife's and it's gone). But to do that, I have to limit the iphone to a single style, which means you lose the RipCity stuff. Which foot would you prefer to be shot in?
The style foot; I'm fine with that. ...Okay, I've cleared my cache... the results are: Ads - gone Column - still there Styling - back to red/black Perhaps the mobile detect is just turned off. Thank you for attempting to fix this. Since it seems nobody likes the column, why not just get rid of it for desktop and mobile? It's not like any Blazers fans will post anywhere else...
I changed the iPhone detect to off. Gonna have to agree to disagree on the right column. We had it on VB3 too, and we want to at least give people exposure to the other stuff. It does seem that a fair number of folks go exploring, our views seem to be up in spite of the upgrade associated headaches. I will, however, keep my eye open for an update that makes it a user choice to default the column to off. I think I read that might be an option for a future version. No, they're back, we just had to rebuild the search index, which is now done.
Since this thread popped up, a couple of things bother me are that I can't rep (when I hit rep, the box doesn't pop up) and there is this big space after someone quotes. If they can be fixed great. If not, I'll live.
Thanks for the response. I don't know how to make the browser wider . . . but honestly it doesn't matter that much and I don't want to mess with the computer settings in case it screws up some format I have for business files or surfing the internet. I know this sounds ignorant because I am ignorant when it comes to computers. Unless there is some button to click on for this site . . . I'll jsut go with it. I do feel bad about my vote given all the work you put into this and helping me with my lap top questions. Can I change my vote?
If your pc/laptop is running windows, you should be able to resize the browser window wider. If I shrink my window way down, I see the rep star move to the next line and it's not clickable. I'm thinking you have a tiny screen or your browser window is very narrow. Are you running firefox? Internet Explorer? Google Chrome?
I'm on my desktop at work that has a 22 inch widescreen. When i click to get on the internet the icon is for internet explorer. But my default window is google and one day I upgraded to google chrome. I know I'm pathetic. Just imagine when i get my laptop and don't get to use business IT to set it up. My laptop might become a coffee stand.
what % of your entire 22" screen is the browser window? try double clicking above the tabs in chrome, or on the title bar in IE. wait a few seconds, then do it again.
About .75-1 inch . . . or a little less than half an inch of black on both sides of my screen when on this site. Don't quite understand the double clicking the title bar.
