A definate coup by The Fan, which has become the Forgotten Sports Talk radio station in Portland for sure. It's no wonder why 95.5 wouldn't touch Donaghy with a 10 foot pole, being so deep in bed with the Blazers.

Primetime is under the assumption that the league is rigged. That it's become like The WWE. I wouldn't be suprised. I'd love to boycott the league and see it go down the tubes. Way to play on all the emotions of millions of fans. And get by with it.

1080 is so much better than 95.5 imo. I was a little shocked to see the ratings. 95.5 pretty much kills 1080 when it comes to the ratings.

Dude. It's not fixed. You can't fix whether or not shots go in the basket. And a seven game series allows for mistakes. If the NBA playoffs was a single game elimination tournament, it would suck if a bad call was made to decide the game. But in a 7 game series, there is room for the error and the best team, in my opinion, always survives. If you lose 4 games, you simply weren't good enough.

If the league fixes the playoffs for long series, thus more money, why has there only been one Game 7 in the NBA Finals in the last 15 years? How come the Spurs are continually allowed to make the NBA Finals when 4 of the 5 worst rated Finals of all time involved the Spurs? Don't you think they'd fix the Spurs out of the Finals for good after they completely bombed (the worst ratings ever at the time) in 1999?

The league has gone out of the way to make the game more fair allowing more and more use of instant replay over the last few years. If they wanted to fix games, wouldn't they rather the refs make decisions without instant replay?

    Go ahead and boycott.

    The NBA ain't fixed.

You can certainly fix whether the shot counts or doesn't count, as we've seen thousands of times, especially in the playoffs.

Refs routinely make the late foul call after the basket is made and wave off the points, saying it was a late whistle on a foul committed before the shot. And as we saw in our series, they can ignore several fouls in a row on a team's 3pt shooters, rigging a nearly immediate 12pt swing in the score.

There is probably no sport whose outcomes are more dependent on the officials, and it's been obvious since Stern rose to power that the fix is in.

I don't think it is fixed. But I do believe some officials, officially suck ass.

So why do they fix the games so that the Spurs make the Finals in 99, 03, 05, and 07??

Lol, Donaghy says he picked the last 13 out of 13 of the last games based on refs put to work games

I've actually picked the last 17 straight based off of talent and emotion.

Sounded believable to me. He could possibly be fibbing on some parts just because, but I'd guess that about 90-95% of what he said is true, possibly all of it.

    NBA blows.

Does he mention who he thinks the NBA wants winning the title this year?

Pretty much every caller that has called in seems to agree that Donaghy sounded very legit.

No, he tells you he knew what already happened would happen. It's a genius move because nobody can prove you wrong!

Wow, you just cost yourself a part in Oliver Stone's movie about Stern and the NBA.

Guys, Donaghy is completely legit and credible. I have no doubt about it. He has absolutely no reason to lie anymore. I know it hurts, but at some point we have to open our eyes and deal with reality - and ultimately try to fix it. If you're a die hard Blazers fan, like me, it's up to us to bring this shit to light and not let the momentum of this atrocity die. Seriously. As much as I hate Canzano, I think we should leverage him. Have him dissect this, publish this, bring it to the next level of distribution. He's not the end-all-be-all, but he's the next level from here. And, god forbid, he's an award winning journalist. Come on. Open your eyes. We cannot blindly follow the NBA anymore, and as Blazer fans, the best in the NBA, we need to fucking do some thing. Or it's all for not. We're wasting our time. It's just a fact. Come on!
