"This is no time for Lou Lamoriello to rush into anything. The Devils' general manager is doing the smart thing by first making a thorough evaluation of what went wrong with his team before he begins the search for its next head coach. After three consecutive first-round playoff exits and just two postseason series victories since the 2003 Stanley Cup, it's imperative that Lamoriello get this off-season right - from the coaching search to decisions on which players he should keep and which players need to hit the road. Lamoriello needs to develop a clear picture of what was going on in that locker room and why a collection of players that was fighting for first overall in January had trouble putting together more than two consecutive good games over the final three months of the regular season and in the playoffs. That Lamoriello never addressed the team's need for a second-line center and a top-four defenseman was a factor, but there's more to it than that." http://www.northjersey.com/sports/p...93179124_Lou_could_go_offside_by_rushing.html
