UFC Primetime returns for a third run starting May 12th. This time the two featured fighters are Quinton Jackson and Rashad Evans who coached against each other on the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter. The previous two iterations of the show have centered around title fights: Georges St. Pierre vs. BJ Penn at welterweight and St. Pierre vs. Hardy at welterweight. This version will be the first non-title bout featured. Jackson was scheduled to face Evans at UFC 107 in December. The UFC scheduled the event in Memphis, Jackson's hometown, for maximum interest. However, Jackson opted out of the fight to focus on filming The A-Team to the chagrin of UFC President Dana White and fans who were waiting to see his feud with Evans culminate. The three-episode show will air Wednesday nights following The Ultimate Fighter at 11:00PM EST on SpikeTV starting on May 12th. Jackson and Evans fight May 29th at UFC 114, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on pay-per-view.
Re: UFC Primetime: Rampage vs. Evans I'm not good at remembering birthdays. :O Should be a great match.
I'm telling you, Rampage is going to KO Rashad. He's going to break that glass chin. And @ James McSweeney saying that Rashad is going to take Rampage to levels he's never been before. Hey James, Wanderlei says hi three times. Shogun says hi, once.
I can believe power bombed a dude in high school wrestling like that...holy shit...bummer for that kid
I'm rooting for Rampage to win this fight, but this nagging thought keeps telling me Rashad will be too fast and too elusive and will frustrate Rampage until Rampage tires and slows down and Rashad gets the TKO in the 3rd.
There was a clip or two where Rampage was pretty funny. For the most part, he was pretty serious, though. He went off on one of his sparring partners for not throwing punches. I'm telling you, Rashad has Page motivated right now. A motivated Rampage is fuckin' scary.
^ Looked like that was Rob Broughton. I've seen him fight a couple times and he is not impressive. The first episode was pretty good. Hopefully they have more content than St. Pierre/Hardy which was thin. I'm still not convinced Rampage is all that interested in the fight.
