Except he had 12 FTs, woops

That's not really getting at the truth is it? Mo Williams, Jamison. Shaq, Pau Gasol.

Re: LeBitch fans coming down hard on him.

How many of those did he shoot in the first half before the Celtics got rolling? 4 of his FTs came off loose ball fouls at the other end of the court. In other words there where a total of four fouls called while he was attacking the basket. Is that what signifies not quiting.

Are you going to answer the question? Have you ever seen Lebron play a game the way he did in Game 5?

Now we are comparing their teammates? Once again, Lebron has enough talent around him.

Re: LeBitch fans coming down hard on him.

He gets a lot more FTs than Kobe, and puts pressure on teams to foul him in whatever situation.

Blah blah blah, you're complaining. You don't like the guy, you never have. He attacked the rim, he bricked WIDE open jumpers. Maybe you should watch the game yourself. He got teammates involved, he was just awful. Yeah he really wanted to lose to Boston? Does that even make sense?

The Boston Celtics have a defensive rating of 101 per 100 possessions in the playoffs, 08 level.

Really, so he had enough help last year when he outplayed Kobe against the Magic? When he averaged 38 a game and had the best post-season run in the history of the league, he had enough help?

Jamison is colder than Lamar Odom was last year, Mo with 12 PER again. What help?

    How quickly time flies.

More turnovers, six less assists. 11 less free throws, yes I am quite certain I have seen a player do worse. And he didn't quit, he was just trash, his name was Bryant.

Are you serious? LOL! You continue to quote my previous comments in each of your replies and then in your response ignore what I said all together.

Yes I hate Lebron James. Yes he is Great. Yes he is his biggest fan. No he doesn't get enough blame when his team loses because he gets none. Yes he was prematurely crowned The King. The guy is a joke thats great at basketball.

And so you have seen him play a game the way he played in Game 5? Where has the rest of the world been and how did we miss it?

What amazing point do you want me to respond to? He attacked the rim, you're the one ignoring that. He is a PASSER, on another level that Kobe isn't. He gets teammates involved, he still got to the rim in his "quit" game.

Kobe doesn't look for teammates nearly as much, he had 1 assist, more turnovers, and of course will take more shots. Two contrasting styles, but Bron is still better even in clunkers.

Re: LeBitch fans coming down hard on him.

Why have you turned this into a Kobe vs. Lebron back and forth? Thats my point. You keep comparing them when thats not even what we were talking about.

You have never seen Lebron James play a game and be so disinterested in it as he was on the other night not matter what you say. The reason its such a huge story is because no one has ever seen him play this way. No one is hating on him cause he had a bad game.

If you wanna wear the MVP shirts, throw the chalk up in the air, tell the wolrd how great you are, you better atleast look like you are in the game.

Ok your turn......... Tell me how much better Lebron is than Kobe.

Re: LeBitch fans coming down hard on him.

Because you'll realize how ridiculous your position is with perspective.

Kobe Game 6 BOS, Kobe Game 4 BOS, Kobe game 6 San Antonio. Didn't draw FTs all the time, doesn't look for teammates so will have more shots, and performs badly in vital playoff games.
Right he's supposed to have 18 FTs, and keep shooting when he's at a 21% clip? Bron has palming gifts that allow him to pass in manners others can't. He doesn't have to dominate in the manner you want. Lastly the point makes no sense, something that makes no sense is probably psychological BS. He wants to lose?

Hold LeBron to a higher standard in other words? What if he's still meeting that standard, cause I think you're grasping at straws.

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/200305150LAL.html

Was he "uninterested" or did he purposefully tank?

I think LeBron went into halftime down 6 points looked around the locker room and saw the same thing Kobe saw in the Phoenix series ... a defeated team.

The fact is, LeBron IS out for LeBron.

Yes HK, there was a time Kobe was out for Kobe a few years ago, and he matured up, realized it was going to take 5 (not 1) to be a champion. I don't see this happening with LeBron anytime soon.

When Kobe came into the league, it is well documented that as an 18 yr old, people would think that he would ask his teammates "where are the best hot spots in LA" and what not. It has been documented that he asked questions about the game, at 18 years old just wanting to get better and better. Byron Scott even said on nat'l TV that "this kid is gonna go down as one of the best ever." Horry said the same thing........and this was an 18 year old KID!

LeBron, on the other hand, wants to know how he can best grow the LeBron brand. He sees himself as a heavenly product that needs to be as decorated as possible in pop culture. Kobe, on the other hand, you barely see him out in public, you barely ever see him at the "hot spots" in LA. Everyday in the offseason, the man works INSANELY every day. A true champion. A guy who I think DESERVES to be called the best ever.

NOT saying LeBron isn't a hard worker, because he is. What I AM saying is, LeBron has to learn where his priorities are, and if he rather become "the billion dollar athlete" or become the best ever. Even if he fails at the latter, he will gain my respect like Kobe did. If he prefers the former, then I'd call him a great player, but I would hate to be his teammate.

Re: LeBitch fans coming down hard on him.

This is why I think Boston deserves the credit for how they are shutting down LeBron's supporting cast. They've put the onus on LeBron to do everything and limit the rest of the players. When neither LeBron or his teammates have it going like Game 5 then you see the outcome and resulting blow out.

The two main scorers Mo Williams and Antawn Jamison are having minimal impact in this series.

    Mo Williams - 20 pts , 4 pts , 12 pts , 13 pts , 9 pts
    Jamison - 7 pts , 16 pts , 20 pts , 14 pts , 9 pts

LeBron's had to score 35 pts & 38 pts for the Cavs to win and he's needed one of these two to go for 20 pts in those games.

Celtics and LeBron have both figured out its up to the supporting cast to step up to win games in this series. LeBron could go for 40+ tonight, but if he doesn't have Mo or Jamison scoring the Celtics are going to win.

So when we had Pau in the Finals and lost, Kobe was 29 years old but didn't understand how to play the game? Interesting.

Re: LeBitch fans coming down hard on him.

1st. I dont care how many FT's he shot. That was your point, not mine.

2nd. I never said Lebron wanted to lose. I don't think thats the case. I think he decided in his head he didn't have what it took to win that night and he gave up. He didn't play his game and there is no disputing that.

3rd. It has nothing to do with holding him to a higher standard. I would feel the same about any other star that I felt gave up. But when you act the way he does, you bring the criticism on yourself.

So you want me to dissect Kobe's intentions by looking at nothing but a stat sheet from a game played 7 years ago. I'm sorry I'm not capable of doing that. Thats exactly why I told you to leave the stats out of it when considering how Lebron played in Game 5. The stats don't tell the whole story.

But ok man. Im honestly tired of debating it. I'll just disagree with you on who Lebron is and whether or not the criticism he gets is fair.

Re: LeBitch fans coming down hard on him.

Why should we ignore it? One of the best defenses in the entire playoffs and you would expect him NOT to average much more than 12 a game. Look at his 38 point game, he didn't get 12 FTs. You don't understand playoff basketball or sample size apparently.

Why would he quit? I saw the game, he was deferring and the Cavs made a run at the end of the second quarter. In the second half he took wide open jumpers and bricked them, constantly. LeBron's game is about dominating every aspect of it, not taking 22 jumpers, having 5 FTs, and 1 assist like Kobe on an off night.

This coming from the guy with a million technical fouls? I think Kobe is amongst the leaders in that for superstars. He's had problems with his Legendary coach as well, and some other off the field incidents. I'm not sure we should be bringing this up.

LeBron wears an MVP shirt Nike made for him, and throws some chalk in the air and dances. Ok got it.

I want to see all these games where Kobe has had 12 FTs on off nights.

Clearly Kobe has quit a bunch of times, if you want to go that route. That's why you should stick to on the court stuff instead of theorizing about what kind of person someone is who you barely know.

You should also stop bringing up all this "help" he has. Cause it isn't there right now. His help is basically him having 29+ PER a night, first in the NBA.

Re: LeBitch fans coming down hard on him.

First, to answer your original question, no, it didn't take Kobe til 29 years old to "learn how to play the game." LeBron and Kobe BOTH know how to play the game. So does Adam Morrison. So does anybody in the NBA for that matter, that is why they are professionals.

Losing that series helped Kobe mature AS A PERSON and basketball player, and the team matured as well. Even though he played shitty, look at what Sasha did. He had a fire under him (not wearing green) that probably wouldn't have existed if he didn't have Kobe on his team.

Look at what his teammates are saying about him. The man brings out the best out of everybody, a TRUE leader.

LeBron, on the other hand, is there to promote the LeBron brand, NO SENSE DENYING IT. He'll end up in NY where his brand will EXPLODE.

I STILL don't understand why you are bringing stats up from 100 years ago. Kobe loses, he gets pissed. LeBron loses, and he smiles about it. I don't know where you're getting at, but I wouldn't want my leader to smile a big game off, and that be that, I'd want my leader to get on the team's ass, and explode in the next game (we'll see what LeBron is about tonight).

I, too, have no time to argue about this. 2 HUGE final exams tomorrow. Deuces.

This, the Celtics are playing out of their minds and it scares me
A fully loaded Celtic team is MUCH better than a fully loaded Cavs team and right now I rank the East teams 1.Magic 2. Celtics 3.Cavs
