If only Adrian Wojnarowski wasn't the source. I just can't get past that. Botching the Roy deal? the #1 pick? Hedo? Not buying it. So even though the Minnesota part seems legit, since I don't believe the rest, then the whole article is questionable to me. Like I said i wish we had a better source.
This kind of reminds me of the Del Negro firing. He was supposedly getting fired from a few weeks into the season, all the way until the season ended, and then indeed he was fired. The Media was in a feeding frenzy for 3/4 of a year before it really happened.
I think Woj was the writer that broke the Paxon/Del Negro shoving incident not too long ago. It seems like he's as connected as any beat writer out there.
Actually another Chicago writer had the scoop but was sitting on it out of respect for somebody on the Bulls staff. They released when Woj got word and was going to release it to the press. By the time it was released, weeks had gone by. It doesn't matter. A legit source is a legit source.
It's a cut throat business. Hindsight may be 20/20, but when owners are paying such huge amounts of money, it's all about what you've done lately. I have a feeling Allen won't be as forgiving with KP as some fans are. Keeping your GM job in the NBA can take a lot of luck breaking your way. And luck this season certainly hasn't been kind to the Blazers and KP by extension.
Not to Nip pick....but he is in Chicago, not Portland. I am sure his sources are better there just like Peter Vescey has decent sources in NY. What can i say, I heard him on the radio and I have read his articles over the years, and he just comes across as a weasel. Hell I would rather hear about it from Quick. Woj has had a hair up his ass for KP for too long for me to trust him on this issue.
I was mad at Wojnarowski in 2003 when he wrote a hate piece on how Allen was the worst owner in the NBA because he wouldn't fire Whitsitt. Woj wanted Whitsitt fired back then. In the March 2010 Yahoo article, he didn't advocate that Pritchard be fired. He just reported that he's in trouble.
