Is there a point to this thread? Or are you just trying to piss off Laker fans?

Well...I guess that probably is the point to this thread.

While we're at it, remind me where your Blazers are. And when was the last time they won anything?

LeBron went against an old team, Pierce has been awful (defensively and offensively) at times defended by ray and tony allen.

Kobe went against the best defense he's ever play in his career while at LA. (clearly this Celtics team is not as good as the '08 championship team)

Actually, this Celtics team is better than the 08 team. They skipped the regular season to get healthy, but they're on all cylinders now and Rondo is world's better. The 08 Celtics needed 7 games to beat a weaker 08 Cavs team. This year's Cs dispatched of a much tougher Cavs team.

Lakers fans should be scared of getting bitchslapped by the Celtics in the Finals once again. But you probably won't have to worry about it because the Suns will take care of you in 6.

Explain how the Suns are going to beat us. They have no size to combat Gasol, Bynum or Odom, and they have no Kobe stopper this year. JRich will get lit up by him night in and night out of they leave him out there on him.

Suns are going to make the Lakers matchup against them and not the other way around. Lopez will be back so that may help in the bigs department, but Frye is going to make the Lakers bigs come out and guard him at the three point line. The Lakers have ZERO answer for Goran Dragic. Grant Hill will guard Kobe and succeed. Jared Dudley is a matchup nightmare for any team and the Lakers are no exception. Jason Richardson will fry the Lakers. Who on the Lakers can stop him? Gosh, the more I think about it, the Suns may win in 5.

    so what?

he had better stats in one game. whats the big deal?

fact of the matter is the cavs have been knocked out of the playoffs before they made it to the finals. kobe made to the finals, he lost, so the next year he won. i dont see lebron doing that. kobe's team is still in the playoffs mind you and lebrons "terriffic" performance got him a one way ticket back to cleveland.

if you really thought that posting this was worthwhile, or could incite some sort of fury in laker fans on this forum, then your wrong, dead wrong.

Nobody who knows what good basketball is cares too much for individual performance or stats. if you want to make those arguments then look at Kobe's stats when he was the same age as LeBron, I'm sure they were pretty good, but who cares?

the fact is kobe is a winner, lakers are winners, they all have a good attitude when it comes to competition, as do alot of laker fans. but i am yet to come across a decent blazer fan or cleveland fan on this forum, and that is disappointing considering how good those two teams are.

Lebron may have terrific stats, but he is still acts like a douche sometimes, and he is still not a winner, no matter how good his stats are.

after discussing this i am still wondering what made you post this? please enlighten us.

For one, Odom will be able to easily bother Frye. He's got the length and quickness to bother him on the perimeter.

How is Dudley a matchup nightmare? He's a SF that shoots three balls. Real tough to defend. Artest or Kobe could shut him down.

As for JRich, he can basically make Artest his best friend for the series, because he's going to be all over him the entire time.

There's no way the Lakers are going to be lulled in to playing the Suns style. They're too smart and too well coached to be duped in to a run and gun game that they know won't suit their style. They're going to do exactly what they've done all postseason. They'll play solid defense and they're going to take advantage of their size. If they do that, the Suns have no chance, because they have no one to matchup against the Lakers in the post.

Oh, and Grant Hill shutting down Kobe? Good luck with that. People have been calling him a defensive stopper in this postseason, but he hasn't had to defend anyone like Kobe yet. Kobe will work him and wear him out, and should be able to get what he wants in the post.

    wow, thats a terrible argument.

really dude? just because you say things, doesnt make them true, what are you the word of god? fuckin asshole.

nobody knows what will happen in this series until it starts.

judging from the past, many more players that are greater defenders than hill have to this day, not been able to stop kobe from being kobe, odom is perfectly matched to guard frye, as is artest, so our bigs wont be coming out too far from where they belong, and even if gasol did have to i dont see any problem with that, when we have bynum, artest, odom and kobe to crash the boards once frye's shot goes up. "zero answer for goran dragic" wow, that is stupid, i mean sure dragic has been playing great and is breaking out of his shell a bit, but not enough that he is un-guard-able, i mean your saying that kobe bryant is guardable and dragic is not. that is what your saying. do you see how others may suspect your fukin retarded? and who can stop jrich, oh let me see, odom could, ron ron definately could, kobe sure as hell could, shannon could, even machine could hassle him a bit.

Nope, the Celtics are averaging less points allowed compared to 08 (post-season), and LeBron had a better series.

Kobe had like 15 PER against the Celtics...

The big deal is... if Kobe lovers are going to gloat and say Kobe would've come through in a big game like that, we all know it's not true. Kobe has HAD the opportunity to play an important Game 6 in Boston and he was a complete no-show.

If LeBron had Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom, and Derek Fisher, he'd still be in the playoffs too. LeBron has zero help on the Cavs. Antawn Jamison was a total no-show. Shaq is wayyyy past his prime and hurts teams more than he helps them (look how much better Phoenix got after they dumped him). Kobe has big men teammates who rebound for him. LeBron has to BE his team's leading rebounder.

I don't know. Your post seems a bit furious, especially with that last "dead wrong" bit.

I actually do not care about either's stats but I want all the facts out on the table if others choose to debate who is better. I'm tired of hearing Laker fans say crap like "Kobe would never have let his team lose like that" when it's false. Call my post a pre-emptive strike.

when he has a dominant big man to do all the dirty work for him

except when facing the Cavs in the regular season or the Celtics in the playoffs

    That I agree with.

How am I not decent? I'm just posting facts to make sure both sides of the argument are out in the open.

And he's not a winner because HE DOESN'T HAVE GOOD TEAMMATES. If LeBron played with Gasol and Odom, he would win titles too.

Because of that last part of your post in which you attacked LeBron for just being a guy with good stats who can't win. It's ridiculous. Surround him with a good teammates and a good coach and he'd win every single year. Look at Garnett. He had amazing stats in Minnesota and won MVP but his teammates were horrible. He went to Boston, had better teammates, and won. He didn't suddenly improve. He just got better teammates.

Look at the 2005 Playoffs. Remind me how much of a winner Kobe was that year. Oh wait, Kobe didn't even make it IN to the playoffs.

Eric, I've already been handling this, you're not necessary. It is a bit unsavory to make all these threads although it is within the rules. You make too many pointless threads.

Still you could go about this in a better manner.

Let's just wait and see who wins that PHX matchup and the Finals in general. The backtalk about LeBron's ousting seems like it's never gonna end anyway.

The facts are that Kobe is a great great player, undervalued because of Shaq. He led the league in winshares the second title run, he could retire with better career numbers than Shaq if he stays healthy (career winshares).

LeBron is just another level. No shame in that.
