John Andretti not sure $20 million bonus enough to attract NASCAR stars

    The NASCAR veteran and 10-time Indianapolis 500 starter isn't convinced that $20 million is enough to entice a significant number of NASCAR drivers to come to Indy even if the starting time is changed to accommodate them.

    "There's still the big issue of priorities," said Andretti, who is driving this month for his cousin Michael's team. "And anybody who comes into somebody else's backyard to race is going to be a long shot."
    Bruton Smith, owner of Charlotte Motor Speedway, said this week he is working on a deal with Indianapolis Motor Speedway to put up $20 million for any driver who could win the Indy 500 and NASCAR's Coca-Cola 600 on the same day.
