The Grizzlies could look complete a sign-and-trade involving restricted free agent forward Rudy Gay if they don't re-sign him outright. Teams can discuss sign-and-trade scenarios prior to July 1, when the free agent signing period begins, as long as discussions don't include the player(s) involved. Memphis hasn't discussed any scenarios, but a sign-and-trade remains an option, according to the Commercial Appeal. http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2010/may/16/dont-rule-out-calipari-going-to-cleveland/
A lot of ppl at certain Cavs boards are salivating at possibly acquiring him to be Lebron's second option along with Jamison. Not gonna lie, but a Lebron-Gay-Jamison core plus that strong supporting cast will be tough to beat. That's gonna be one athletic team.
The only problem I see popping up is....well, No LeBron being there. I'm not sure if Cavs have what it would take to actually get Gay. Only way I see the S&T scenario going down is if Grizz don't have cap to sign him and a team with cap is trying to sign him.
