God, I'm so disappointed. You have no idea how angry I am right now. I had to go outside and cool off cus I would have filpped out on somebody. The Nets disappointed me, but then I looked at it from a different point of view. In both games 3 and 4, the Nets had ample oppurtunities to win but failed to execute down the stretch. I still have faith that the Nets can push it to a 7th game but I doubt they can get 3 straight victories. It all depends on the morale of the team and it can't be high following another disappoiting HOME loss. Look at the franchise from top to bottom and the blame begins to point right at the brass. They rescinded a deal for Shareef Abdur Rahim, who was unbelieveable against the Spurs and didn't give McInnis, a proven scorer in the league, any PT. Mistakes like that eventually catch up to you as they did for the Nets.Hopefully, the Nets can pull a Suns and win despite a 3-0 deficit but I doubt that. It's been a nice season that could have so much better
Im not even angry, Im just kind of shocked. Like when we lost that game today, I wasnt really sure what to say and I just kind of sat there for a good half hour. This team has so much potential and they either play great or they play poorly, they are extremelly inconsistent. I came in fully confident that we could beat Miami, but tonights loss took so much out of me. I know Phoenix beat LA, but I its such a daunting task being down in a 3-1 hole. I hope we can amount a comeback and make this a series again, but in the end, this season is a mystery to me. We had two 10+ game winning streaks, but we had times when we looked horrible out there. We had times when we played great defense and times when we couldnt buy a bucket. Ive been dissapointed with Kidd's involvement in these games, seems like Carter is being given the reigns too much, but regardless, what happens happens. I love this team so much and my mood swings by their performance. Its been a rocky season, but its been a hell of a ride. Weve had some great flashes of brilliance and walk out with some great memories. I hope we can continue the series, but either way, I love this team and will always support them no matter what happens. I will wear my Nets jersey proudly the day their season ends and I will always support my team through thick and thin. You said it all in your last line..Nice season, but could have been better..We MET expectations, we did what we were expected to do, nothing more nothing less....Lets go get em in game 5!!!!
Take the Heat to 7 guys, I want them as tired as possible for the Pistons - we're 5 game sweeping their asses. lol 5 game sweep, cause the pistons can never get a 4 game sweep - sucks but o well.
If you expected the Nets to win against the Heat than you should be angry at yourself for thinking that, not at the team. You did have a nice year. You need to improve your post though.
What? The Nets won 3 out of 4 games against Miami this season and have all the tools to beat the heat. They didnt play their best basketball, Ill tell you that right now. Im not making any excuses, Miami has played better and exectuted better, but dont tell me the Nets cant play with them. When the Nets have their A game, they can play with anyone..
At the beginning I didn't think the Nets would be too hard for the Heat to handle, but at the end of the year, and in the first round of the playoffs when the Heat struggled against the Bulls I gave them a chance. Than it became a whole different story when I saw Game 1. I was so convinced that you guys would win it - but thats all good - you had an excellent season. I was actually more scared of the Nets than the Heat - the Heat have 2 excellent players, while the Nets have Jason Kidd, Richard Jefferson, Nenad Kristic, and Vince Carter, and not to mention Collins (who wouldnt be that huge in a Piston's series anways) - that is a team - much like the Pistons. So good season guys - but I'm still hoping you guys can at least win one more game.
You Nets fans should be proud of your team. They really, really would've had a hard time makin the playoffs without that 15 game win streak and VC's great play. but now, i think the heat shall win this series.
The Heat losing in a 5 game series to Detroit?I don't think so.This team has been underated time and time again in the playoffs but when it comes down to crunch time we execute. You're really going to be in for a surprise if you honestly think the Pistons will beat the Heat in 5.They are a good team,no doubt but people seem to put you in your own level sometimes,as if you can't be beaten by anyone.I hope Cleveland takes another one so that you don't think your team is invincible.
Don't give up yet guys! We know what happened in the PHX-LAL series.I'm still confident the Nets take this to game 7. :aggressive:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (hoopskidd5 @ May 15 2006, 12:05 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>If Miami beats us I cant wait to watch Detroit smack the piss out of them</div>Me to man I hope they sweep thier asses. The only one I like on Miami is Wade and Williams. Everyone else I really dont like or I cant stand them (ZO)
A 6 game series is more acceptable but I'm positive it will go down a final 7th game. The Heat have just as much depth in our bench as do the Pistons, who really only have Delk and Antonio vs our Posey,Zo and Gary Payton.
This sucks. Oh Well.Keep your heads up Nets fans. We weren't going down w/o a fight. The Heat are just too good.
WE DIDN'T FIGHT! The Nets were flat out pathetic. We need Josh Boone and a shooter, and to get rid of damn idjit Robinson.
I'm not completely sad because this is where we were said we were gonna finish and we did. Next year we will be put to finish lower but we will get to the top again.
Like I said, this is the season we were predicted to have. We did what was expected, nothing more, nothing less. We achieved what was set out for us, but didnt go beyond that although we may have been capable..
