Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Suns (Best of 7) I think Odom is going to be the huge key to this series. He can guard Frye out on the perimeter because of his skill set, but if he's smart and plays aggressive offense, there's no way Frye can guard him. He's too quick, too good of a ball handler and too good in the post. He SHOULD be able to completely dominate Frye, much like he did Shawn Marion.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Suns (Best of 7) Our bench needs to step up in a BAD way, Odom particularly. I have no concerns about our starters dominating theirs but a bench of Dragic, Barbosa, Dudley, Frye, Amundson is something to be concerned about.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Suns (Best of 7) "You guys got to admire Phil," Gentry said. "C'mon, the stuff that he throws out there, I mean I think it's great. He's very creative. There's a reason. But I think you've got to understand that there's kind of a method to his madness. If you let it affect you, then it will."
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Suns (Best of 7) I'm a bit concerned about Kobe. The LA Times reported he had a significant amount of fluid drained from his knee. Bynum, not worried about. His defense has been good and that is all we need from him. He says his knee hurts, but hasn't gotten any worse than the last two games in Utah. He said it got worse from the initial injury. Of course, the headlines will be it got worse because it'll get views that way.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Suns (Best of 7) This layoff seems to be hurting us more than helping us. Both Kobe and Drew are worse off than when the Utah series ended. I'm sure Kobe will be game tonight, but how does the knee respond tomorrow? Jared Dudley provided Kobe with some bulletin board material saying he would go after Kobe's broken finger. Everyone wants to know how the Lakers are going to defend Phoenix. I'd like to know how Phoenix is going to defend LA? I think you'll see a lot of Ron Artest in the paint this series. Phoenix has no one to contain him down there.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Suns (Best of 7) Dudley isn't stupid enough to go after Kobe's finger. That was just him barking like the bitch he is. If he does go after that finger, Mbenga might be seeing some PT and you know for a fact Ron-Ron will step up. View the sig, bitches.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Suns (Best of 7) He's mentioned it twice now, which is stupid on his part. I wouldn't put it past the Suns to pull a stunt like that. Remember the Tinker Bell clothesline on Kobe a few years ago? Like Byron Scott said though. If the Suns are counting on Dudley to slow Kobe down they have no chance. LOL.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Suns (Best of 7) Odom with 11 points and 5 boards in 9 minutes of playing time so far.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Suns (Best of 7) 62pts in the 1s half... i guess our offense is back on track? LOL But we should D up even more on the suns
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Suns (Best of 7) Wasn't able to see too much of this game, but judging by the score, it's been easier than I thought it would be. Can someone give me a break down on how Drew played today? Looks like he didn't do too much statistically, in fact, it looks like he got outplayed by Robin Lopez. Sure doesn't bode well for us in the immediate future if he is unable to step up.
Re: WCF: Lakers vs. Suns (Best of 7) I guess the crowd was supposedly shouting "We want Boston!" during the end of the fourth quarter after the Lakers blew out the Suns. ahah
