McGraw says, "Unless Phil Jackson or Doc Rivers gets involved, the Bulls’ coaching search looks like a two-man race between Maurice Cheeks and Lawrence Frank."

:sigh: I won't impugn the manhood of Cheeks or Frank, but I won't go so far as to call this a race either. I'm seeing a lot more logic in just waiting than I am hiring a known non-quantity.

Are ex-guards all the Bulls are really interested in for coach and GM?

Frank's had two winning season all that time with Kidd and Carter.... Yeesh.

Frank took Vince to the second round, which is as far he'd gotten until this year, so I'd say that's more a credit to Frank than a knock against him. Vince blew two key free throws with less than a minute left tonight, and my lasting memory of the Frank-Kidd-Vince teams is Vince in the post dribbling the ball of off his foot to lose to the Raptors in the playoffs three years ago. The Nets best big man over the last three years might have been Jamal Magliore or Mikki Moore. Why would you think a perimeter team like that would go any deeper in the playoffs, or even be a lock to get to the playoffs?

Those probably are the best two available right now, but I'd be shocked if anything was decided a week into the search.

I'm thinking they drag this into July when they can talk to the key FAs.

We get Lebron we will pull in some of the bigger name coaches.

Unfortunately, Phil's not coming back to Chicago. Not even for Lebron.
