What do you guys think about this? It was a flagrant-1.

Flagrant foul, not overly dirty. I would be happy if Greg or Joel put one of those hits on another teams star players.

I think you have to look at it within the context of the game. In the previous several plays, the referee's had blatantly made several bad calls on the magic, and not made calls both ways. At a certain point, Howard decided if that was how they were going to call it, he was going to show them what a real foul is, and let them know that if they don't start calling the game straight that it is going to spiral out of control really quickly. Right after that foul, the game was called tight and precise from there on out.

The bad news for the Magic, was that foul, really pissed off Paul Pierce and he nutted up and immediately dropped like 8 points on them in the few posessions. If you want to see the definition of a player nutting up, watch that stretch of play. It is like you are watching the Anti-Rudy. Instead of totally pussing out, he nutted up and hit his shots.

Flagrant-1 is fine. Pierce sold it after the contact (falling in kind of an odd way, then putting his hand over his face, waiting....and pretending to go after Howard after he was surrounded by players).

No worse than a Juwan Howard foul. Flagrant 1 is perfect.

I'm waiting for a Nash/Pau double-flop where they both almost hit each other, then flail on the ground as if they'd been shot. Like a double KO in Street Fighter, only with more vagina.

Pussy Gasol never got more than 21 dropped on him by Howard in the Finals.

Granny KG should also watch him and take notes. Figure out the post moves he never executed to that level.

I thought the foul should have been called on Pietrus for grabbing the jersey.

Nice hard playoff foul. I'm somewhat surprised that Pierce didn't call for a stretcher.

Exactly what I thought. After the foul I just changed the channel because I figured we'd have a 10 minute delay where Pierce was stretchered out as if he just survived a building collapse.

I loved it. It was a little slap to the face but Pierce acted like he had just been shot.

What does KG have to do with Howard? They don't guard each other unless it's in transition or a switch.

You know, I posted this in the Blazers forum because I wanted intelligent responses. If I wanted to read a bunch of meaningless trash like this, I would have posted in your Laker forum.
