Knicks forward Wilson Chandler was busted on a pot possession charge after cops pulled him over for driving with no headlights in Queens, police said. Chandler, who turned 23 last week, was carrying what was described as a "small amount" of marijuana when cops stopped his 2010 Mercedes-Benz near 94th Avenue and 213th Street in Queens at 11:30 p.m., police said. Cops decided to search Chandler after they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, police said. They found a joint under the seat and a bag of pot in the console of the car. A search uncovered five more small bags in the trunk. The Michigan native's family was stunned by the news. http://www.nypost.com/iphone/story.php?feed=sports.xml&id=4.2.1634587444&pos=sports_topstories_01
It depends how much he had on him in total weight. I'm not sure what the laws are in NY, but if its over a certain amount he could be booked for intent to distribute drugs. That's jail time.
The officers recovered a plastic bag of marijuana from the console inside the car and five other small plastic bags from the trunk, weighing under 2 ounces in total, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.
