A study, carried out by professor Jose Maria Gay, suggests that debt has risen in accounts for the 2008-09 season and now stands at €3.53 billion (£3.03 billion).

Giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, along with relegated Numancia, were the only clubs to make an operating profit, and the study also revealed that 85% of clubs' debt comes from player wages.

No surprise, really. It is a non-competitive, two-team league. Almost every team in LL has a couple of good players but there are very few quality teams.

But their quality teams truly are quality.

We can all say that in the next 10 to 15 years it'll be either Barca or Real winning the league, going back and forth with each other.

Not good for the league IMO.
